You come to Texas and you will get your arse handed to you in a hand basket covered in little pink bows and flowers. All I gotta say is if Kenjo goes back he will make sure his right hand man doesn't have (other plans)

First time it had happened all day, but pretty good for our first time out for the year. We were pleased with the 4.82. Not bad for a small block ford on nitrous at 2860#s. See yall next month. FOR EVERY CAR YOU PICK UP YOU WILL LOSE A CAR BECAUSE MOST CAN'T REMOVE WEIGHT AND IT WILL PUT THEM AT A DISADVANGE AND THEY WON'T COME. IT COST BIG MONEY TO REMOVE WEIGHT FROM A CAR. | [> Subject: The question has been raised a month or two ago about giving some of the nitrous combo's a weight break. I for one argued last year to do this to make our series more competitive. NOW, with this said, here is what I propose. 4.84 nitrous motors 3000lbs. With additional breaks: -50 for no bars, -50 for conventional heads, -50 for single carb..... I think this is more than fair and would give some of the guys that haven't been running with us a lil incentive to come play. Let's face it, it's going to go away if we don't do something people. Let's make a push for these last couple events and see what happens!!!! Comments PLEASE!!!

Date Posted: 04:14:29 10/11/09 Sun I got a suggestion.... Keep the weight rules on any car known to run faster than 4.75 or 4.80 any other car can run at whatever weight they want...and when they do run that fast dont put them up to 3200 do it according what there combo is...I no you basically did that with allowing outlaw ten five guys to race with OTTA but u put weight on them and they already no how fast they run at that weight so it prolly isnt worth there time to go out and test on small tires to run slower than they already are... Author: Mikie Sopczak [Edit] |
Date Posted: 10:04:03 10/11/09 Sun Let me start by saying we have not raced this year and apologize. Our changes for 2009 were supposed to take 3 months. 10 months later we almost done. Anyways, i support adjusting the rules as necessary to increase car & spectator count. I think by giving weight breaks for certain items, such as the ones listed, will help to intice racers. If the changes prove to be an overwhelming advantage then we can re-evaluate. I know this is a complicated issue. I would like to suggest that we not get too crazy on always changing rules. This has proven to KILL classes in other organizations. See ya'll soon- Mikie [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

I know some of the texas guys will making the trip (up) to La to race for that $2,500 to win and try and reset that track record of a 4.78 set by Kenjo Kelly. But once again be aware of these arkansas boys cause they have been running awsome as of late. I know you guys are looking to go racing somewhere since there is no racing for you guys next weekend so come on up and have a good time. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

I know all of you guys have been so fired up and ready to go racing and things just happen. There is alot of cars in texas and its hard on all of you. Not trying to step on anyone's toes or take advantage but like I said, we have a race this weekend at prescott, arkansas it pays well,$2,500 to win $1,000 R/U $450 semis & $100 to the 1/4's. The track has been working real well as the last race we had 3 of our local guys running 4.90's. Track will hold more so Rob,Chad,Justin,Rodney,Them,Kevin Cram, all you guys just come on down and make the trip to arkansas and run with these arkansas boys and see who can drop that track record @ 4.90 down saturday well into the 80's or more. Be great to have all you guys down this way putting on a great show and representing texas against these arkansas bad boys. Rodney Whatley please give me a call I lost your number. You can of course run wheelie bars down here and the rules are just as simple as yall's. No excuses so come on down and run. If any of you have any questions just give me a call @870-312-6572, some of the texas cars already confrimed they are coming, qualifying starts @ 2pm saturday. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 17:33:00 09/17/09 Thu It appears that someone out there is thinking that "I" cancelled this weekends race due to car count issues. That is a big bullshit statement. First of all, I expected bigger car counts than we have ever had, this was a good chance to bring Dallas and Houston together without either having travel issues. This race will be rescheduled and there is no other reason except weather that it was cancelled for this weekend. This track has been taking a beating on rain, they have had about 15in over the past couple of weeks and they are under water, with more rain forecasted. They choose to try and run the bracket series but they do not cost them what we cost them and the track wants a good surface for you to run on. If you have any doubts about this please feel free to call Ken Hall or Molly Hall the owners of the track. I don't know what you think I possiably have to gain by cancelling a race that is 100% funded by a track, that would be crazy. Sincerly, Bonnie Webb [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 18:27:04 09/16/09 Wed I have talked with several OTTA racers and being we have not raced in a while we where talking about testing at HRP friday night. We figured the racers could put up some money and have a jackpot race, and would ask the track if they would match whatever the racers could come up with. I talked to Seth today and he said all he could do being friday nights have been packed the last few times they were able to race, was do $10 tech cards, $5 crew members, and when we had all the OTTA cars in the staging lanes, allow us to go in front of the other cars. With that being said, if you guys could call me @ 409-284-9311 to let me know how many crew members will be with you, i have to tell Seth so he can put a list at the gate. I would need this info before 2pm on FRIDAY, thanks. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

So guys please be very conservative when you are parking your rigs. Please lets work with each other. Class sectional parking would be nice, this will help Tracie and the rest of us to get you guys to the line and scaling more succesfully. Rodney took the challenge of the points fund this year and came up with 5k however the guys that were going to help him with the 5K bailed so he is looking to put it up himself. This is a resession and sponsorships are hard to come by, We are actually lucky that we are still getting to race and still getting our payout. Go look at some of the other local organizations schedules and you will see what I mean.

Date Posted: 06:44:46 08/18/09 Tue Thanks to OTTA for a great event. Special thanks to Kyle for all the updates and phone calls to let us know we could make the event without worrying about the rain. Special thanks to Tracie for doing a great job running a successful and fun event. Thanks to all the hard work Bonnie put in to this race, and we missed you at the race, by the way. Thanks to all of the local fans who are always so welcoming and nice to hang out with from the Evadale and surrounding areas. Thanks to the track and all but one of the staff members at Ben Bruce Memorial Airpark Raceway for a great event. My team, family and friends always have a blast at your track. Congratulations to the Revias' of VIRUS Racing for your win with that beautiful car in our Outlaw 10.5 L/S class. We are coming for you though, LOL! Baby steps, but we are coming. Congratulations to Sam Harvey of W.F.O. Racing who won the Outlaw 8.5 class, saturday in Evadale at the OTTA event, and his son, Justin Harvey who made it to the quarter finals in the Outlaw 8.5 class before he was put out by his father, Sam. Sam also set a new Outlaw 8.5 record at the track, with a 5.49, 5.44, and 5.47. Congratulations to all the other racers that I just don't know that well yet on your successes this weekend. | [> Subject: NEW RULES NEED TO BE POSTED- Outlaw 8.5 Rules and Rules for how Bi's are chosen for future races.
|
Author: Crystal aka Flyer Girl aka Grillmaster Fan [Edit] |
Date Posted: 05:14:24 08/17/09 Mon PLEASE NOTE THIS IS MY OPINION. I think it needs to be said, and if you hate me for having the balls to protest, so be it. The more haters you have is the measure of how much you must be doing it better than they are. Everyone has fault with something and this is two of those things that I didn't like... 1) NEW RULES NEED TO BE POSTED- Outlaw 8.5 Rules and Rules for how Bi's are chosen for future races. Now, I anticipate that there will be new rules just to keep Sam Harvey's Nova out of it next time or make him add weight to it. LOL! But that's just racing, same reason Grant McCrary stopped running King of the Hill in Texas, he kept setting new records and still is the current record holder but they implemented rule after rule against cars "like his". And if you were there saturday, you may have felt as though there was unfair bias against cars "like Sam's"... It was even said that the rules are still being revised and supposedly they weren't sure his car met the class standards... You should have teched his car according to the existing rules that everyone else had to meet, if he met the rules that were currently in place, that's the end of it. Everyone knows the fastest car from each previous round is suppose to get the bi in the next round at least one time in a race... Or you give bi's based on the qualifying list. Either way there should be explicable conformity to it. And real racers know that you are only suppose to allow any racer one bi per race, but no, they gave it to one other racer twice, back to back. I don't have nothing against that racer, he didn't pick himself to be given 2 bi's. But Sam was calm and cool about it the whole time, I don't think it ruffled even one hair on his head. But it sure had me disgusted the way the bi's were chosen and how it was handled. 2) NO LOVE LOSS FOR BEN BRUCE MEMORIAL AIRPARK RACEWAY. I try to live by the "Golden Rule"- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. But as I am only imperfectly human, I also do not take no mess from anyone, except my parents. I have the right to reflect someone's actions right back to them. If you hit me, I'm going to open a can kick-n-tail on you. If you talk crazy to or about me, I'm going to speak about and to you like you're ridiculous and crazy. In my eyes you are asking for trouble when treat someone negatively or ignorantly. There was a particular 'track' staff member, who rightfully accused me of being rude to her... But she was rude the last time we were there last month and I let it go... She was rude this time, and I thought she was exhibiting just plain old everyday prejudice, but according to other patrons of her same race, she was rude to them as well. So it wasn't just me she was unprofessional with. And I feel better knowing I'm not crazy or paranoid, she was just plain rude. Come to find out she gave us misleading information about what round our class was in, per the tower she said. But she refused to let us explain that we had just talked to Kyle, 30 minutes earlier and were up to speed on the fact that we had time to make the race despite us being late... If and when we return to the track, I will anticipate returning her attitude towards her if she continues to handle people the way she has previously. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 20:24:28 08/17/09 Mon The orange car only got the bye one time. The first time the other car broke. It is set on a pro ladder and that was correct, it's not for the fastest pass. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 06:44:46 08/18/09 Tue Crystal, so that you dont have a bad taste in your mouth over the 8.5 Class please understand that the Orange mustang did not get 2 bye runs. The second round he received a "solo" run because Corby could not make the call. That is completely different than a bye. Also even if that was the case, only in an index style card drawing system can the same car not get a second bye. In a pro ladder set-up like we use the ladder is based on qualifying and depending on the number of cars, the same car could get 2 bye runs. As far as the Nova goes, I didnt hear anyone complaining about it, phenomenal car. He played by the rules currently in place and did a great job. May those rules change, sure its possible but I wouldnt think it would be much, we dont want to "rule" out anyone but I guess you never know, thats up to Mike and Tracie and Bonnie I suppose. The Nova pulled that 5.49 out against us in the first round and we're not crying about it, but we'll be ready next time!!!! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 08:11:10 08/11/09 Tue Good, well maybe you will understand this then, can a .500 pro tree be ran for the 6.60/7.00 class's? There is no way you can go red unless you are guessing at the tree in a 6.60 or 7.0 car. This takes the tree out of the race. Just a suggestion, I will be there reardless, just would like to see it at .500 like the NHRA/IHRA class cars that run pro tree at these speeds. Thanks for the time.
