Bonnie & Tracie I personally want to thank you for the short term season with OTTA this year. The guys were a little down short this season on getting out. We do appreciate the efforts you guys had made on keeping things alive for us in 09. Ultimate Street has not died yet, but on a strong hold of reworking things. I myself have been working very hard to reinvent the wheel at my business, which has on my adjenda of completing a car project for OTTA next year to race. I see things are looking up for you guys and give best wishes for next year.
Again I want to say thank you.

2nd round elim.

Taz vs.Buttafuoco

J.Harvey vs. Stewart
Win: J. Harvey 5.21 (note rset record)

Finals:
Taz vs. Justin Harvey
Win: Justin Harvey 5.25

Your winner and new record holder for the class Justin Harvey (unless your in Joe Golden world and don't believe you have to back the number up for it to be a record)

* Congrats to all the 8.5's for putting a great show on. They ran a tight race all the way through. They are all right on each others heels making for some great racing. Some think that stricter rules need to be set for next year in this class. My personal opinion, why change anything when you have a class that is running so close, with each race it can be anyones race and as you can see the record changes hands very quickly. Just a personal opinion, that no doubt will be disbuted until everyones blue in the face.Again congrats to all.

Then the BAD9ER mowed through the field only to find the Arkansas mustang to be KO'd already!!! I did not receive the rings in time to get the 2009 pictures however they are scheduled to be delivered to the track by UPS in the morning.

These rings will be awarded to our OTTA points Champion and the Top MPH Record holder and the Top ET Record holder within the OTTA members.

They should look the same as this with the exception of the date, the ET and MPH will not have Champion down the side, that will only be on the one for the Points Champion.

Just got 2 more Oklahoma cars confirmed for the OTTA race Saturday Nov 14. Just to let everyone know this is the final race of the season so we will do an all in even it takes a 32 car field. We do not want you to feel that you may travel so far and not be able to race. We want everyone to walk away with the great OTTA spirit.

New commitments are:

Bryan Martin from Oklahoma city said he used to race with Kyle some years ago in the Clash of the Titans and was looking forward to seeing some of the old racers and coming with him is Dwayne Mill from Tulsa Oklahoma.

Subject: Food for thought

Author:
Bonnie
[Edit]

Date Posted: 14:46:39 11/12/09 Thu

Good luck to all of you Saturday regardless of the outcome (just a little food for thought)…..

Don Dick missed 8th place in the OTTA association by about 14 points and the last race the track was oiled down just as he was getting ready to go another round which could have put Don in a strong 8th o place, (sorry Don) Don also ran his fastest pass ever on little tires at that race which was a 5.05 (I think) and was very excited to get it, anyway I received a call yesterday from Kevin asking about the shootout and what would happen if any of the top 8 cars could not make the call. I told him I need 8 cars for the shootout and I would move the 9th spot (Don Dick) up. I heard some pretty strong chanting in the back ground which I am pretty sure it was Don Dick saying I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can--"
at that very second Rodney Whatley beeped in stating that the wrong pistons had been shipped and he was sweating getting his motor back together to make the race Saturday. All I could think of was the little red engine that could, so if you see Don is running around Saturday morning saying "I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! He’s not crazy, he’s just doing a little Indian doing a war dance.
All I could do was laugh, I guess it was one of those things “YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE! Anyway, sorry Rodney my laughter wasn’t personal. I wish each and every one of you the very best, but be careful because I think Don might have put some mojo on you.

Food for thought: Let’s say that Don does make it up the ladder and in the field for whatever reason and he switches cars with a friend that he might think would be a little faster and the friend uses his car to qualify. Fair enough but here’s the tricky part…. Both cars qualify, both drivers qualify, points and positions follow drivers not cars so we still have one car for each driver and one driver for each car ---- Eliminations begin, can the drivers switch back to their own cars or do they have to use the car they qualified in. Hmmmm just something to think about.

What are your thoughts? I have seen this in NHRA with teams giving to fastest car to the driver ahead in points.

I Heard that the Arkansas boys had a little something for the Texas boys. They said they were going to give another ass kicking to Kenjo if he had enough guts to show.

So who will it be AR , MS , south TX., north TX., LA., or OK. what other states will represent.

I think our "team if ya will" has the capability to win this deal. I'm sure most of you have seen all the hipe with all the team north and team south shirts and stickers. I'm wanting to put together a shirt for all of us that are making the trip in Feb.... Is there any intrest in this? I'm willing to put them together if some of you or your team or fans want to put in on them... Any ideas on what we can put on them?

Just bad luck. The car stumbled coming up on the brake. Laptop took a crap and we couldn't read the computer. Thanks to Chad and Kyle for letting us borrow theirs to at least adjust timing. Dustins lights the two previous passes were .413 and .403. First time it had happened all day, but pretty good for our first time out for the year. We were pleased with the 4.82. Not bad for a small block ford on nitrous at 2860#s. See yall next month. It is spelled "DuBose".

I THINK YOU ARE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE BY CHANGING THE RULES THIS LATE IN THE YEAR. THERE ARE ONLY TWO EVENTS REMAINING AND NOW YOU ARE CHANGING THE RULES. FOR EVERY CAR YOU PICK UP YOU WILL LOSE A CAR BECAUSE MOST CAN'T REMOVE WEIGHT AND IT WILL PUT THEM AT A DISADVANGE AND THEY WON'T COME. IT COST BIG MONEY TO REMOVE WEIGHT FROM A CAR. ONLY A FEW CAN DO IT. JUST MY TWO CENTS. BRUCE

[> Subject: The question has been raised a month or two ago about giving some of the nitrous combo's a weight break. I for one argued last year to do this to make our series more competitive. NOW, with this said, here is what I propose. 4.84 nitrous motors 3000lbs. With additional breaks: -50 for no bars, -50 for conventional heads, -50 for single carb..... I think this is more than fair and would give some of the guys that haven't been running with us a lil incentive to come play. Let's face it, it's going to go away if we don't do something people. Let's make a push for these last couple events and see what happens!!!! Comments PLEASE!!!

I got a suggestion.... Keep the weight rules on any car known to run faster than 4.75 or 4.80 any other car can run at whatever weight they want...and when they do run that fast dont put them up to 3200 do it according what there combo is...I no you basically did that with allowing outlaw ten five guys to race with OTTA but u put weight on them and they already no how fast they run at that weight so it prolly isnt worth there time to go out and test on small tires to run slower than they already are...

if i could get to 3000 i would have a better shot..but with no weight in the car it weighs 3280 with me..not sure what i could do to lose 280 lbs..already have a rack, trz arm and an aluminum block...maybe let my 140 lb son race it but he has never raced before, that would be loss of 100 lbs though.LOL

Let me start by saying we have not raced this year and apologize. Our changes for 2009 were supposed to take 3 months. 10 months later we almost done.

Anyways, i support adjusting the rules as necessary to increase car & spectator count. I think by giving weight breaks for certain items, such as the ones listed, will help to intice racers.

If the changes prove to be an overwhelming advantage then we can re-evaluate.

I know this is a complicated issue. I would like to suggest that we not get too crazy on always changing rules. This has proven to KILL classes in other organizations.

See ya'll soon-
Mikie

Just to let everyone know that ThunderroadRaceway will be having another outlaw race this coming up next weekend on October 3rd and is already looking to be a great race. I know some of the texas guys will making the trip (up) to La to race for that $2,500 to win and try and reset that track record of a 4.78 set by Kenjo Kelly. But once again be aware of these arkansas boys cause they have been running awsome as of late. I know you guys are looking to go racing somewhere since there is no racing for you guys next weekend so come on up and have a good time.

Congrats on your win lastnight at prescott, the car was running consistant and win a .408 light in the finals was great. Also congrats to Al Sneed for a career best 4.90 with the turbo setup, but Arkansas dont play as Randy Westmoreland layed down the law and reset prescott's track record at a steller 4.82@158mph with his RADIAL stock suspension mustang.

The economy is bad on everyone right now and with noone getting to race in the last 2 months due to rain and other things it has been hard on everyone, racers, tracks and fans. I know all of you guys have been so fired up and ready to go racing and things just happen. There is alot of cars in texas and its hard on all of you. Not trying to step on anyone's toes or take advantage but like I said, we have a race this weekend at prescott, arkansas it pays well,$2,500 to win $1,000 R/U $450 semis & $100 to the 1/4's. The track has been working real well as the last race we had 3 of our local guys running 4.90's. Track will hold more so Rob,Chad,Justin,Rodney,Them,Kevin Cram, all you guys just come on down and make the trip to arkansas and run with these arkansas boys and see who can drop that track record @ 4.90 down saturday well into the 80's or more. Be great to have all you guys down this way putting on a great show and representing texas against these arkansas bad boys. Rodney Whatley please give me a call I lost your number. You can of course run wheelie bars down here and the rules are just as simple as yall's. No excuses so come on down and run. If any of you have any questions just give me a call @870-312-6572, some of the texas cars already confrimed they are coming, qualifying starts @ 2pm saturday.

It appears that someone out there is thinking that "I" cancelled this weekends race due to car count issues. That is a big bullshit statement. First of all, I expected bigger car counts than we have ever had, this was a good chance to bring Dallas and Houston together without either having travel issues. This race will be rescheduled and there is no other reason except weather that it was cancelled for this weekend. This track has been taking a beating on rain, they have had about 15in over the past couple of weeks and they are under water, with more rain forecasted. They choose to try and run the bracket series but they do not cost them what we cost them and the track wants a good surface for you to run on. If you have any doubts about this please feel free to call Ken Hall or Molly Hall the owners of the track.

I don't know what you think I possiably have to gain by cancelling a race that is 100% funded by a track, that would be crazy.

Sincerly,

Bonnie Webb

I have talked with several OTTA racers and being we have not raced in a while we where talking about testing at HRP friday night. We figured the racers could put up some money and have a jackpot race, and would ask the track if they would match whatever the racers could come up with. I talked to Seth today and he said all he could do being friday nights have been packed the last few times they were able to race, was do $10 tech cards, $5 crew members, and when we had all the OTTA cars in the staging lanes, allow us to go in front of the other cars. With that being said, if you guys could call me @ 409-284-9311 to let me know how many crew members will be with you, i have to tell Seth so he can put a list at the gate. I would need this info before 2pm on FRIDAY, thanks.

Here lately the prescott outlaw guys have been going everywhere kicking ass and taking names. Now its time for you to come on thier turf and see just how bad you really are. Here is the flyer and payouts for the race. Dont forget $1,000 in bounty money for the fastest pro mod in the 3's!! Plus $500 bounty money in Real Street!!!!!!!! Dont take these Arkansas boys lightly!! I know Ken"Bad Bird"Thomas will be here with the hell hoss, I talked to him today and they are bringing a few more cars with them also Heath will bringing his car with them, sure someone is going into the 3's!! Have also talked a few more that are coming but I shall let them remain nameless for right now!!
Big Al Sneed and a few other texas cars will be coming to run in Super Street 10.5 but these arkansas boys have been tough lately. And for Real Street its going to be some great racing as we all await the arrival of the blue mustang back from last time and a few more TOP SECRET real street cars that will be here as well. Should be some great racing.

Bonnie & Tracie I have heard that you guys are working hard on the schedule. It's need ASAP, I went thru Lufkin on the way to Marshall, I notice that the track parking is going to be dificult. Heads-up we really need to get a handle on the parking for the racers when they enter. Please put this in consideration for this weekend. So guys please be very conservative when you are parking your rigs. Please lets work with each other.
Class sectional parking would be nice, this will help Tracie and the rest of us to get you guys to the line and scaling more succesfully.
Happy racing and lets show Pine Valley what OTTA is all about.

I BELIEVE I SPEEK FOR ALL THE OTTA RACERS WE ARE ALL THANKFUL FOR THE HARD WORK THAT YOU AN TRACIE DO FOR US.WE HAVE ALL ENJOYED OUR OTTA EVENTS THIS YEAR.THE REMARK ABOUT THE RESESSION THIS YEAR WE HAVE ALL FELT IT,THATS WHY WE ONLY RUN THE OTTA EVENTS.THE ONLY THING ABOUT THE PURSE AT THE END OF THE YEAR IS THAT PEOPLE SHOULDNT MAKE A PLEDGE TO DO SOMETHING IF THEY HAVNT THOUGHT IT OUT AND ALREADY HAVE THE FUNDS IN PLACE FIRST.AS FAR AS US WORRIED ABOUT THE PURSE,THAT DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE THE FUN WE ARE HAVING THIS YEAR AS A FAMILY RACING THATS ENOUGHT FOR US.IF WE CAN KEEP IN FRONT FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR VIRUS RACING WE WILL DONATE THAT TO OTTA IF ITS THERE.THANK YOU BONNIE HOPR NO HARD FEELENS TO YOU ARE ANYONE ELSE AN WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE AT THE TRACK THIS WEEKEND.

Rodney took the challenge of the points fund this year and came up with 5k however the guys that were going to help him with the 5K bailed so he is looking to put it up himself. This is a resession and sponsorships are hard to come by, We are actually lucky that we are still getting to race and still getting our payout. Go look at some of the other local organizations schedules and you will see what I mean.
