Subject: Bonnie, I am sure I can speak for many racers besides myself,,,so here it goes,,> You are claiming that the Track is open Friday all day for parking only, and there is no Test & Tune... Why is that if the track is (OPEN) ? Sounds like a BOLD move to say,, Oh You can come in and park your Rigs and get ready for tomorrows big race,but O-YEA,,,,, Ya can't go and make any test hits on the track!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can understand if the track is (actually closed), and I would hope this has nothing to do with OTTA making that call,, Don't forget you are going to have Outatowners coming and I am sure they would like to get a feel for the track with a test session the night before.... This aint a NHRA NATIONAL EVENT? Please Explain!

It's going to benefit the racers and the fans. The racers get to learn the track and get their cars dialed in and the fans get a good show Saturday because everyone's cars are dialed in and ready for war! As it is now, your going to see a bunch of 1/8 mile burnouts first round, followed by some very conservative passes 2nd round (cause they don't know where to put the tuneups) and IF we even have a 3rd round, you MIGHT see a decent pass.... Just my opinion.

[> Subject: Evadale is not open on Friday Nights for racing at all this year. There will be some people there to help park any of the rigs that want to get there early and perhaps get some sleep after making a long hall or unload and set up or even do some last min. tuning on the cars. They do not have the staff for Friday track prep or tower. We tired to get them to open but to bring in additional staff to run the tower and prep the track is a big expense to them and I do not have the funding to offset that expense. Since the track is never open on Fridays they can not recover the expense from potential spectors or test n tuners. Mike was going to just take the hit for our big race but so many people called complaining before the last race and just could not comprehend the bottom dollar was a big expense out of the tracks pocket that he made a decision that it just was not worth the abuse they were getting from the phone calls.

When ya get free, Come by the pits and ask me about the oil down @ the last race,, I am sure Kyle also remember Prescott Arkansas when We all went there and the race started off as a PedalFest, but ended up a show to Remember.. :)

This year alone that track has put up better grandstands and a new speaker system so that cars in the back can hear when they are called up. Some of the things that you are not understanding is that an extra Insurance policy has to be paid for. We are not and NHRA or IHRA sanctioned event so we are required to have an additional policy and this is something that we have had and have taken care of at every event, the cost of EMT the cost of the Fire department the cost of VHT and the list goes on. It is a big expense for them to open on a non scheduled day because no spectators or test n tuner come out due to the face they are not open an it is known that they are not open on a Friday night.

OTTA finals Scheduled for November 15, 2008 in Evadale at Ben Bruce Memorial Raceway.

It appears there is a few emails floating around and quite a few phone calls being made including one to possibly strong arm Evadale Racetrack today in order to cancel our November race. I have not received any of the phone calls but a few people have forwarded me copies of the emails and it all boils down to this.

We "all" have put forth a great effort to build something great this season called OTTA. With all the participation, I feel that we have succeeded. We are being talked about across the country and in a good way. We have headlined magazines been part of a segment of Inside Drag racing on ESPN, and many cars are in the build today with the expectation to join us next year.

The bottom line is that we have approximate 25 racers who have the right to have their Season final points race...THE GRAND FINALE", Is it fair for the little guy not have the finals because some of the heavy hitters don't mind traveling. I say no. They have raced with us all season and deserve a finish. We have built a fan base of spectators who deserve to see the finals. We have been supported by many sponsors who are looking to work with us next year who deserves to see the finals. Is if fair for us to drop everything we have going for us here in Texas and run to Louisiana... We did not expect IKE to hit us but it did. Does that mean that we drop what we have worked so hard to build or do we move forward and I say we move forward which means that every racer who came out and supported us this year is able to complete his finals and every spectators that has supported us can come out and see the finals and every sponsor that has helped us can come out and see what we have gave them for their support.

So come on OTTA let's race and finish this season as should be... OTTA finals, November 15th at the Dale

We had some of the best racing of the year this past Saturday. I want to thank all the people, that had to deal with "IKE", that came out to see the fastest cars we've had here at one time. Thanks goes out to Bonnie, Tracy and Coach for a great show. After talking to Bobby Marriott, I am glad we were able to give the Fuel Altereds Association a place to have their points race when they were in a pinch. Here is a short recap of the winners and runners up... In the 6.0 Index congrats goes out to our own Lonnie Brown in the "Scream'n Luv, running a 6.02 against the losing G & S Equipment S-10. In the Ultimate Street... it was Chad Smallwood over Trevor Stripling's, oil pan busting wheel stand loss. In the Outlaw True Ten Five's....it was Kenjo Kelly's 4.82 over Kyle Hutell's losing 4.83. Great Job OTTA. The field of 14 Outlaw Fuel Altereds put on a great show for all the fans. It came down to Donnie Massey's "Showtime" machine over Kevin/John Broussard's "Purple Haze". In the semi round John and Kevin set a new personal best time of 3.99 that put them in the finals. But at the start line in the finals they broke due to a throttle cable and that gave the win to Donnie Massey. I thank all the competetors and the Fans for a GREAT SHOW.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the weekend at Evadale. My wife and I had a blast and the "southern hospitality was unreal". Special thanks to Jason, Chad, Kyle, Bonnie and Tracie for all their help in keeping us on track. Track lived up to its reputation and was definetly worth the 8 hour drive. P.S Thanks Kyle for outrunning me instead of running over me. LOL We will be back and hopefully be a little more competitve. Thanks to all.

I just got a call from Shane Parker in Arkansas, he plans to make the 9 hr haul to join us at the Dale Saturday. He said he heard Kyle was the man to beet but but he mis-understood he thought that meant to out-run not run-over.... and he wants a rematch... he said to tell Kyle his only request was that he had to take the left lane since Kyle already took that side of his car out up in Presscott but it wasn't anything that some 200 mph duck tape and a big hammer couldn't fix, he also said there was no need for him to bring reinforcements so he was traveling alone and planning to take all the money home.

Kyle, Do you have any idea what he was talking about? Maybe you should tell us your side of the story... He kept taking about GREEN paint on his car and your car is not Green. Could this guy be confused... I can't beleive that any of you would let our TEXAS money leave TEXAS!!!!!!

If you got a better offer to present, first you need to post your name and bring yourself out in the open. Where were you when the meeting took place at the beginning of the season. The girls were there presenting there offer to the guys and stood there own very well. These races are happening because of them, not you because you didn't step up to the plate and present what you had. People are always ready to take a better offer, But it take money to and presentation to start a series. Can you go in your pocket and pay a year of purses to the racers. How many sponsors do you have hanging on your tail to spend money on these races. What tracks will you be racing at. We will all waiting on your anwser after you present yourself. I think the girls will not have any problem letting you run this if you can do better.

Well the guys we couldn't wait until your 24 hours was up, but we are ready know that you can't handle the pot. The girls don't own anybody, just put things in front of us to go for. Just like any one else could have. The two classes are about racing and are trying to bring a good thing to the Houston area. For those of you who do not know who Bret is let me introduce you.

Bret Kepner is known as "The hardest working man in drag racing "

Bret was added to the Hall of Fame in 2007 and a few of his accomplishments are:

Kepner has attended literally thousands of drag racing events since his first, the
inaugural NHRA Summernationals at York, PA, in 1970. His journalism career began at age 18
with editor Jim Kelly of Super Stock & Drag Illustrated magazine and continued with SS&DI
through its demise 22 years later. His stories have appearned in over 50 publications
throughout the country and he has announced dozens of NHRA, AHRA, IHRA, and UDRA national
events. The drag-racing guru has also appeared in more than 700 television shows as a
motorsports commentator since 1984.

An accomplished bracket racers, Kepner is an NHRA National Record Holder in Stock
Eliminator. He also operates a free bracket racing school at Gateway International Raceway
and is the track's official drag-racing photography. His photos can be found at

Bret works for ESPN doing drag racing broadcasts, among countless other things all drag racing journalism related. So let's make sure to give Bret a great big Texas Welcome.

Hey Guys, got a few photos of Chad testing the new 4-Link 68 at HRP Friday Night. Chad said he can't get used to the Red Color so he is going back blue again before Next Season! Best Time so far in Alabama testing where he picked up the Motor was a 4.82. never hooked up well at HRP the other night. Whish I had some daytime shots!

I just talked to Larry at Northstar. He is trying to schedule us for Nov. 1 with Texas True Tens.(all he needs is the approval of the owners) I need to know who will be there?

The rules will be the same as OTTA Houston. So Houston there's no excuses to not show up unless you're SKEERED...

Payouts will be similar to Houston, possibly more if we can find some Sponsers.

Everyone has been asking for this so show some support. Talk to your friends and competitors. This race will help Northstar determine if we will be scheduled next year.

Not to mention they won the clash last week. Which brings me to my point, where is the baddest true ten five racer on the planet at, you know, the legend in his own mind, Chad rivia. Havent seem him racing but sure have seen him talking about how bad ass he is. Maybe you should talk to Kyle or Kenjo, they will tell you how it feels to actully DO IT!! Sure you already knew this but how does it feel to have BIG DUSTIN ahead of you in the points chase in OTTA. Might wanna close your mouth and let the car do the talking till you are the front runner!!! Or hell at least ahead of a 5.50 car in the points!!! LOL!!!

When the Ultimate Street Class was put together, it was mainly to bring together the Houston base cars and it surrounding cities. It used verious rules from other venues across Texas. From this season no excuses, but good things about the rules.
We have had a small car count from our Houston racers, which there home town, that it taken the out of towners to complete the field. I ask all the time where are the Houston support that this class was built on. ????? From the Oct. race last year, this class had 80% out of towners to show 20 to 25 cars in the class. This had let us know that the rules we have are appealling to the racers.
Taking time out to get on the phone and call racers to respond to the race @ HRP. total me to have 13 cars, for that weekend, but to go to Evadale became a cut to some of them, which is not in there budget. to travel. There is a split on the racers. And now I want to say is Houston racers where are you. ??? And this is to the OTTA guys also. These two classes need racer support.
TO BEAT SOMEBODY, YOU GOT TO BE THERE, NOT SITTING IN THE GARAGE.

In today's racing world it takes racers from several different areas to make a class/series successful.....as your race last October showed you. It's hard to have a continuing series with all the races at one track and it's much harder today to create, promote, and watch a class grow than it's ever been. Best of luck to you guys.

There is no hidden message here, the decision was base on the economy just as stated. Seth Angel and Houston Raceway Park has been very supportive in everyway possible to support us and heads up racing. Seth in no way forced or pushed this decision. We plan to be on the Calendar for 2009 at Houston Raceway Park just as the document states. I am personally grateful for all the enjoyment that I have experienced at Houston Raceway Park over the last year and look forward to working with them again next year. The Dale will be running the O.T.T.A. (Outlaw True Ten Association) race, not the full High Velocity Impact race. This has nothing to do with one track against another, smaller venues require smaller tracks larger venues require larger tracks, both tracks have been very supportive of each other throughout the entire OTTA and High Velocity Impact Series and we are thankful for both of them. Do not read something into this decision that is not there. Fuel prices are outragious, cars are broken, and sponsorships are harder to come by. It take a large amount of money to host the High Velocity Impact Series and it is just not available this year.

So,Are we racing or not? As some may or may not know,our cars out West dont exactly fit your rules,in an attempt to unite different Associations/series last year,the "Texas VS The World" was a very successfull example of what can happen when everyone works together to get more people/racers together and have some fun.There were a couple of people that didnt agree,but overall,I think it went well,I have plenty of racers making plans to be in Texas on the 18th,I need to know first off if we can even bring our cars?,If this is a series race now and the rules are as written for OTTA,then we need to know this.
I see the posts about the unhappy racers that cant afford to travel from Houston to Evadale,well try driin from California! LOL Imagine that fuel bill! 30 hours to Evadale and they are willing to do this just to race with other racers and get the Texas True Ten racing experience.
Someone please make a decision and let us know,I cant believe after the race we had last year that this may not happen at all this year!
