Date Posted: 20:41:09 09/03/08 Wed Here is the problem Next race September 20th North Star TTT5 Heads-Up Action at its best Extreme Street 10.5 True Street 8.9 Mickey Thompson Drag radial The TTT5 organization has booked a race on September 20th in Denton. The majority of the Ultimate Street racers are committed to that event. They booked this race in the last month or so knowing that we had a September 20th race booked. We can not pay a purse at Evadale for Ultimate street if we do not have a field because most all the racers are in Denton. It is not fair to split the racers and I am told that Denton is the home track for these racers. If someone know something different, please advise. |

Date Posted: 19:00:48 09/03/08 Wed High Velocity Impact Canceled at Houston Raceway Houston, TX (September 3, 2008)---High Velocity Impact Racing regrets to announce the cancellation of its remaining two events scheduled at Houston Raceway Park Saturday, September 20, 2008 and the Series finals, October 18-19, 2008, due to decreasing participant interest and lack of sponsorship funding. “Because of the tough economic environment that exists today, we unfortunately had to make this difficult decision. This is the last thing we anticipated ever having to do,” series founder Bonnie Webb said. “The cost of racing has risen dramatically as reflected in our decreasing car counts. The sponsorship revenue we rely heavily on to operate our events on the level our racers expect just simply isn’t there.” Webb fully expects High Velocity Impact Racing to return to Houston Raceway Park’s calendar in 2009. “I am extremely disappointed to remove these two great events from our race calendar, but support Bonnie 100% in her decision,” said Seth Angel, General Manger of Houston Raceway. “No one is immune to the effects of our weakened economy and rising gas prices.” High Velocity Impact Racing thanks the Outlaw True Ten Association (OTTA) and SNS Drag Racing for their continued support and commitment to our Series. We may have to tweak a few things to allow other organizations to run with us but "WEIGHT" will not be one of them. Last year we made everyone run our weight which meant that some cars had to add few pounds but ... NO BUT, they will have to run our weight requirements in Outlaw True 10's. |

| [> [> Subject: The only rule that was adjusted outside of the Houston True 10's last year was a fiberglass rule for the Nova from California, and 2 people from California (Tim Rigsby and Donny from WestCoastHotRod.com) came to Texas during the Evadale race in July and discussed with Tracie and I as well as most of the racers at the Evadale race what they had and were told by the racers that they would not have a problem with what they intended to bring from California. It will be no different this year. We will use the OTTA rules for the race and the other organizations that want to run with us will have to put their differences on the table and any differences will have be agreed to by the Houston racers. I don't expect many issues we only had one last year and it was worked out in July for a October race and we had over 300 cars at that race, so one out of 300 is not worth stressing over. "O.T.T.A. Date Posted: 22:48:12 08/27/08 Wed Bonnie,I just wanted to clear up one thing,we did get a 100 lb. weight break last year for the orange nova,it was still heavier than he runs out west but he wanted to race. I dont remember what the weight break was for,either the 1 carb,engine size,conventional head or a fact that we had all of that,but we did run that car at 3100lbs,not 3200 which I believe is the norm out your way.I do remember Jason from ORSCA saying he didnt care cause we were gonna get our asses kicked anyway! lol All the people I talked to ahead of time were o.k. with it,most of them thought we were crazy for driving all that way to get outrun,but hey,we had a blast! Just post up what the rules will be for this one,then we can see who will foot the bill for the trip and who wont,I hope we can compromise on things again,it will definately be pricey to get there,but were bringing some cars. I dont know what Donny is doing,He actually didnt make it to your October race last year,he bailed out at the last minute. I will do what I can again this year to make this as good as last year! Date Posted: 11:12:52 08/27/08 Wed No Qualifying passes were made and all tech card money was returned therefore no points can be given, others could argue that they watched the forecast and felt certain the race was going to be rained out and made a choice not to drive the distance. If we give points for showing up then who's to say that other racers were not on their way and even very close to the track and received a phone call that the race was rained out and turned around and went home. This fact is that the race was called prior to qualify time so there was time for more racers to show up. No matter what the answer is, someone is not going to be happy. I have checked with other organizations to see what they did and this is also the answer that I received. If at least one pass was made or the tech card money would not have been refunded, it would be a whole different argument. So please do not shoot me but this is the fairest way we see to handle this and appears to be what other organization do as well. We will not use this as a dropped race because it was a total wash out with no points gained or lost, so you will still be able to drop two race's at end of the season as planned. |

We are considered as a Houston base class that opens it doors to Texas & surrounding states to compete with us. Let us keep an open mind on being brought to the table of these combo's. If they are not in this meeting there voice will not be heard to take in consideration of them becoming a part of this organization. Our goal is to reach out and to fine tune this class to make it grow and keep it exciting to the racers. No new combo will be considered by message board, nor email, but need to be view by on site before a race day to be considered by the elected committe members that will stand behind our rules to the fullest, to allow he or she to race in the next competition race. This is why is so important that you be at this meeting. To get your combo considered in the rules. Guys that are out of town, that can't make the meeting, please send a representive or someone that can voice for you, your concerns, about the rules and changes that need to be made or added, this must be in writing or email to me @ c_t_racecars@prodigy.net sign by the racers to be considered as a legal statement. There have been a rumor of a merger with Texas True Ten Five In the Dallas Area. This will be another discussion in the meeting. Organization Fees will be discussed for 2009 This year we did not input an organization fee cause of this is a growing class to become an organization. Date Posted: 17:54:10 08/22/08 Fri I will state again, I am the one that inspected the Nova, because we had a big controversy about it with drag radials on it and the weight issue. It did have multiple nos kits. On the premises that day, we did have another Orange nova with two carbs on it, I beleive it was from Louisiana. Why are we arguing a point of carburators on this car, the OTTA rules are set, if he had one the first time, and two this time, that don't effect his weight. Just look for him to send more poeple home this time. |
