Subject: Roger

In the 60s, Roger and I roomed together, ate together, chased the ladies together, wrote songs together and helped each other out whenever needed. He has been my friend from the first moment I met him at the Gelnhausen Service Club. His sense of humor tickled me and his quick and often brilliant mind taught me with a no "holier than thou" attitude. He was a sweet man and I will miss him very much as all Monks will. His life after the Monks wasn't easy.. alchohol had him for a long time but he finally kicked it for good a few years ago. He moved to my town some years back and we took up our friendship with joy. We went fishing often and kept in touch every week. The touch of his person is now gone. His funeral is today. He will be cremated as per his wishes and be buried in my family plot in Pine Ridge Cemetary a few hundred feet from my home. I will keep his ashes through the winter and perform his burial in the spring. Goodbye good friend Roger.. I hope your destination has a set of ASBA drums and many spare sticks because I know that you'll set the beat for the spirits around you.
