Subject: Monk Time Sessions

I have been immersed in the Beach Boys "pet sounds" sessions box set that was released a few years ago... excellent outtakes, brian wilson chattering away, even a vocal only mix of the album.

Which led me to wonder about the monks studio session for Black Monk Time. Other than than a painful memory in the mind of the befuddled engineer I wonder what remains from those sessions? How many takes did you guys do of each song? Were there any "outtakes" to speak of --- versions with Larry singing lead or Gary singing the names in a different order on "monk time"? (typical fan obsessive crap like that)

I know 5 Upstart Americans is an early glimpse- but I wonder what stuff might be on the reels from the BMT sessions? And if there is anything, where the hell are those tapes?
