Subject: Dave Day Interview - After the Fact

Just wanted to let all interested parties know that Dave's interview at KUGS was a smashing success! He was a fanatstic interview subject, and offered some answers to my questions that were often quite philisophical and profound, and he is a natural story-teller, which really added to the proceedings. Unfortunately, we did not cover everything I had planned, but alas, that's showbiz. Quite frankly, I am grateful for what we accomplished as it is. Quite a few listeners here in Bellingham have since commented on how fascinating it was, and of course, want to know where they can obtain Monks music. I have started by steering them towards this website.

The show was basically recorded in its entirety, but not without a few hitches. Due to a very unreliable studio cd burner (I thought Marantz was suposed to be a good brand!) I had to record the last 30 or 40 minutes on a cassette. To make matters worse, someone had not bothered to set the deck's pitch control back to normal, so it sounds like Dave and I are inhaling helium (kind of cool, actually). This can be fixed very easily with Pro tools software, and I plan to do this as soon as I can. Dave has expressed interest in archiving the interview as Mp.3 files on this site, and I plan to be in contact with the appropriate parties capable of assisting with this. Stay tuned for more info...

On the whole, a fantastic experience, a highlight of my experience in radio, and life in general. I am very grateful to have met and hung out with Dave and his wife. Everyone should be as lucky to spend a saturday evening the way I did! Thanks again, Dave!
