Subject: The Miss World winners sometimes look plain, but the following year they come back so much more beautiful and really radiant. I remember I wasn't too sure about Greece in 1996, she looked kind of frumpy... but when she took to the stage the next year to crown her successor, she looked spectacular. Others that looked so much better when they gave their crowns up were 1995 (Venezuela), 2000, 2002, 2005. Talking about the 1997 Miss World pageant. First time from the Seychelles... still the old format. On the beach with the living, breathing set... To me, that remains one of the most exotic pageants ever. And I loved Miss India... such a deserving winner. Don't know how South Africa managed to placed 3rd... especially with that monstrosity that she was wearing. It looked like something attacked her dress and one sleeve and parts of the other off. Jessica Motaung looked so much better at Miss SA. And the hair... oh, the hair. | |
