I think nevertheless that spankings work well with boys too if you begin to spank them regularly (when needed) from an early age on (like you mentioned about 2). It is probably something different if you begin to punish them at age 10 (or older). About the severity of the punishments, the gender in itself makes for us no difference. Children are all different and their need of spankings may also vary a lot with their age. You've got for sure a lot of experience with corporal punishments (I mean you're old enough...) When you speak about "regular ritualised spankings" do you mean something like these famous "maintenance" spankings (spanking a child with no relation with their behaviour) we have all heard about (but never met anyone who used them)?
