Nicole, a ritualised spanking typically refers to the manner in which it is carried. The ritual can take many forms but would typically have steps that are followed to make the event memorable for the child and bring home to the child that he can expect a similar procedure next time as well. For example, scolding, removing the child's bottoms, placing him/her otk, spanking, and placing in the corner afterwards could all be component parts of a ritual.
