In this case I mentioned, I don't think the boy knew he would get more spanks after the "have you learned your lesson" question. I think that though he was repentant, his mom was still angry.

One more point on the over the knee position. Last time for me I remember being bothered by the knees/thighs sticking in my stomach and my head almost on the cold floor of the tile floor. That is, until the pain in my bottom took over. Does anyone else remember that we feelings, and should parents switch to a couch or bed when spanking older ones, especially if they are going to lecture while you are in position?
