I must admit being a 60 year old in the UK I can relate to spanking which was used both at home and school I must have been quite good because I did not get it often. I can however remember visiting the headmasters office with three others for being cheeky to a female teacher. The head commented that the three of us were not regulars in his office indeed none of us had been sent to him before and we were 13. We received 3 strokes of the cane on our buttocks and although we were fully clothed we had 3 red stripes and could still feel it the next day. We never appeared in the headmasters office for discipline again. As we had to apologise to the female teacher it also taught us an additional lesson. Yes I do believe spanking in moderation works.
