 When I was little I saw a mom sitting in a lounge chair on her lawn drape her son over her lap and deliver a single swat. Many years later I saw a prolonged over the knee spanking a mom gave her boy in a car. These two spankings almost required the otk position because of where they happened.

In between these two incidents I saw plenty of spankings, none of them over the knee. Most moms never seemed to take the time to find a place to sit. So I thought over the knee spankings only happened in the movies/TV, perhaps because those depictions seemed less brutal for kids and more
romantic when a hero spanked the heroine.

Therefore my questions: 1- of the many, say, non- single warning swat spankings you have given, how many or what % are over the knee/lap
affairs? 2- same for the spankings you remember getting or witnessing as a kid, were they always over the knee? 3- do you agree with my theory that over the knee spankings make the spanker feel less cruel in punishing that way but probably are more effective as an assertion of parental authority, especially as kids get older.
