My two have always been spanked laying across my left leg on their beds. This leaves my right leg free to lock over theirs and help to hold them in position. In my opinion it is the best position for me to be able to control the spanking and gauge the effect it is having by the colour of their bottoms. Their vocal contributions also help me tell when they are learning the lesson I set out to teach. And it works well with the paddle too when I decide something a little firmer is needed.
