 I recall my mother telling my teacher I would be spanked. I don't recall her ever telling a teacher I had been spanked due to some incident at school.

But I grew up in a small town so I wouldn't be at all surprised if my mother did so just when talking to her as a neighbor. I did often enough overhear Mom and a neighbor chatting about my exploits and a subsequent spanking.
