You mentioned "allowing my children off my knee," and "kicking and squirming." Is there ever an attempt, especially with older kids, to not only squirm, but try to get off your lap? In my experience things are over fairly quickly, but for those of you who stop to lecture, have you ever had to deal with someone who wants to stop the spanking completely?
