Dear Mr Wilson,
I write to you from the sunny island of Singapore and have, what may seem like a strange request. Let me explain the purpose of my writing to you.
Recently, my dear father passed away in June this year, at the age of 88, leaving behind a collection of his old Pitmans Shorthand journals. He had been a Pitman’s Shorthand teacher from 1948 to 1965 and taught it to hundreds of students. He was also the chief examiner in the sixties. He did not part with the journals that he had used to teach the subject and read them from time to time. As far I know, they were used to dictate passages to his students.
The family feels that the journals may be considered a rare collection. I would be grateful if you could help me find out if there would be anyone interested in purchasing the journals. I could give further details on the journal if need be.
I can be contacted by e-mail at : kala_75@hotmail.com
