Subject: Is my china safe for eating/drinking? (Lead-free?)

I'm trying to find out if my china is safe for eating/drinking...free of lead. I can't find any info online, nor is there any phone number listing. How can I know if this is safe for hot tea? Tea/coffee cause lead to leach out, or so I read.

It's a yellow plate, white in center, gold trim, and a pink rose vine pattern all around it, very pastel. The back of the plate says "The Cronin China Co.-Minerva, Ohio - National Brotherhood of Operative Potters" and I found this site,http://www.ohioriverpottery.com/pages3/cropot.html, which tells me this set dates back btwn 1934-1956, but does not list my pattern.

There's no phone number, no place to email anyone, and a "home lead test" is like $20-$30, which I'd rather not spend, if possible.

Can anyone help me?
