I am just extending my thanks to everyone that help run this event run so smoothly. Above all else I would like to extend special thanks to Grace and Jamila's big sister, Stephanie Martello. Without you both and the support and compliments of family, friends, and other contestants this year...she just would not have been comfortable. She started out so nervous and look at how wonderful she turned out last night. It was a proud moment for everyone...but it was such an extreme joy to see Jamila so proud of herself for overcoming her stage fright. All of the girls did a wonderful job last night and all were truly princesses, even before they got their crowns and sashes.

Here are my suggestions for next year:

If there are going to be this many contestants and categories divide it up over different days.

High School Pageant on a Friday night or
Do the Little and Junior Miss on a Saturday Afternoon and big girls that same Saturday evening.

Then have Mini and Dainty Miss on a Sunday Afternoon.

This helps shorten all the time that it took monday night. Also allows parents to come for a more specific category instead of sitting through so many different performances.

Backstage there is a band room right next to the chorus room that we used monday night. Maybe talk to the school and see if we can use both rooms for more space.

A lot of people were telling me there was too much repetition. The girls information was read to the audience during introduction and then again during question and answer. Maybe only introduce all the contestants and their information in the beginning so the girls dont have to be on stage so long for question and answer.

I think also every girl should be asked a different question appropriate for their age group. A lot of the little girls were answering the same question, because they were behind the curtain hearing what the contestant in front of them said. That didn't make it very fair to the first little girl who had to answer without hearing someone elses response to guide her.
