It's time we all just sat back from our computer screens, took a deep breath, and looked at the world for what it truly is - versus how we'd like to see it, just cuz it'd be a whole lot simpler and satisfying.

Everyone's different... and that includes everyone's sexuality. There are people who are born gay, people who aren't, and people who become accostomed to it. There are people who're born with varyingly mild predispositions to homo or hetero, and people who aren't born with a sway one way or the other. And there are people who're born swaying both ways. And - on top of all that - there are some people who *change* their orientation during their lifetime, either consciously or not, and sometimes this sticks quite nicely and sometimes it doesn't. All this is completely natural, and happens all the time everywhere (with very few exceptions) in even more complexity than I can describe here; it's just society that pushes us into simplifying it into handy label form.

Lots of gay people are sometimes turned on by the opposite sex, yet we - I am one of them - go on calling ourselves gay, cuz bisexual doesn't quite imply much more than a 50/50 or 60/40 split. (I guess I'm 8-10% latent hetero; you wouldn't call that bi, would you? But I mean, if I were on a deserted island with someone of the opposite sex who turned me on, I think I could live quite a happy life, gay boy that I am.)

SO... to zero in on some B-level loser actor like Anne Heche and try to label her - realizing that even if you were her best friend, sibling, or lover you'd still be at the mercy of the human complexities mentioned two paragraphs above - well, it's just silly. It might be fun, but this kind of thinking and gossiping sinks into our perceptions and turns our brains to mush.

It was Heather Grahams character that was based on Anne Heche, whom Steve Martin dated and then she f*@ked him over and eventually moved on to a famous lesbian to further her "career"
