gay-teen plot takes a weird turn when Damian tries to send his son,
Luke, to a camp that claims to deprogram homosexuals. And Emily, who
is pregnant, will allow her fetus to be harvested for stem cells in
order to save the life of Jen's baby. ATWT chief Chris Goutman says
both stories will "steer clear of religion and politics. That's not
our agenda. We want to put a human face on these issues." He tells us
the Luke twist is quite startling: "The camp director suddenly shows up
at the house, and it's like, 'Pack your bags. I've got the car
running.' It's pretty scary for Luke." So scary it triggers a tragic
accident -- one that will allow Martha Byrne, who plays Luke's mom, to
exit the show on a long maternity leave.
