Jamey has been described as a "chronic self-Googler" which says he may be very narcissistic or very paranoid. It may indicate that he is regularly checking to see what others are saying/posting about him because he has been living on the edge. Just maybe.

One blogger states that Jamey has been seen at a family bar in Roanoke (VA) "all the time" and that he even had "tried to pick him [the blogger] up a number of times. Here's a link to that blog but do understand that these are anonymous postings and anyone can say just about anything.

I have personally seen the infamous photo. I received it in an email. It looks to be authentic, i.e., not altered. It shows a man who certainly looks like Jamey wearing a white teeshirt and holding a green washcloth in his right hand. His left hand is covered with shaving lather, and his genitals are surrounded in shaving cream. There is only a small amount of penis area that is not coverd with the foam. His scrotum and entire genital area look to be already smooth like this is the second go-around to get every little bit of hair. There is indeed a razor lying on the bathroom sink in front of him.

To be honest, it's not a BIG deal photo, if you get my drift. His penis is average size, and from the look of it it appears to be partially erect, though just slightly. I mention that because that little ring of darker skin that circumcized males generally have, is visible and the head sticks out a ways from it. That says to me that it is not totally soft but rather partially inflated ;-)

His chest is covered with the shirt so you can't see how he is built or how smooth/hairy he is.

His story that he "just stepped out of the shower" and someone snapped a phot is hard to believe. He is already wearing a shirt and it appears to be dry. His hair, though not grromed in the photo dies not really look to be wet. SO there is some inconsistency to say the least.

There are numerous postings on the web asking for the pic that got him fired. Personally I did not even keep the email. I saw the pic. It does NOTHING for me. Absolutely NOTHING. Marc Lamarre's pic might be a different story but no one has mentioned having one of HIM shaving that abundant French-Canadian fur lol ! Now that would be a sight to see!

I hope the whole Jamey thing will blow over soon. He's just a local weatherman for gosh sakes. Sure, the story is newsworthy in its context. And I am as curious as the next guy as far as the IS HE question. But I think people are making way too much of an issue about a rather dull photo. But as they say, to each his own.

It's seldom that people are given what used to be called the benefit of the doubt these days. When I had to have a hernia repaired a few years ago I was given a choice. I could have a male nurse shave my pubic area or I could do it myself. I had never ever shaved my pubes previously but decided to instead of having a stranger do it for me.

Does no one ever think outside the box here? How would any of us assume to know what was behind Jamey's decision to shave himself? Was he posing or was he caught off guard? Was he doing this to be kinky, for hygiene or pre-surgery? Had someone put him up to a dare and it was nothing more than fun and games....till the pic was posted? Was it a payback for informing the Feds about drugs in Roanoke?

Do YOU know? I don't. If you don't know for sure, why not just offer an opinion rather than claiming to know for certain?

Any Roanoke, VA readers out there? It's been mentioned in several blogs that Jamey's indiscreet photo was not the only reason he was fired. It sounds like the particular places where he was seen frequently had something to do with it, as did the friends and others he was hanging out with.

One place mentioned in a blog posting was The Park. It's a well known GB in Roanoke where a gay guy was murdered some years back, supposedly by a man whose surname was "Gay." Dunno if that's true, but it's a well known story here. He was also seen working out with his old pal Lamarre at Gold's Gym. Lamarre waa supposedly HUGE from bodybuilding.

Anyone know of other places (restaurants, bars, fitness) frequented by our former weather guy Jamey? Hopefully he will come to terms with his life and get re-hired by the station he used to work for. He apparently has a ton of supporters in the area who would like to see that happen. It's pretty clear that using the morals clause in his contract to get rid of him was a bit much.

Jamey lives in Old South West. A newspaper article a week or so ago mentioned that he had recently taken a roommate. I took note that it said roommate rather than housemate. Supposedly he is still seen in town having dinner with friends.

Jamey is still reporting the local weather, but not on TV. You can find him @ www.jamey-singleton.com If you have a media player and a fast connection you can watch him.

IMHO he has become much more expressive and less up tight as far as his style. My gaydar pings every time I watch him. Personally I think he's quite cute. I have friends who consider him a major dork. Which only goes to prove that tase is a personal matter.

The shooting you speak of happened at Backstreet Café, not The Park. Several straight people attend The Park, and another WSLS employee frequents the place. If you saw Jamey there, he was probably just there with his friend, who is gay. I don't care or know if Jamey is gay, but I wanted to clear up what I could about the clubs.

It must have been hard for him to deal with those very direct questions. Many public figures (think former NJ governor McGreevy, Rock Hudson, and others) have gone for years publicly denying things because they felt their careers will be ruined if anyone ever discovered the big secret. Eventually it comes back to be their downfall.

Personally, Jamey's sexual orientation is not an issue for me. Neither he nor anyone for that matter should ever be forced to disclose that unless they feel comfortable. I am more concerned about what I feel is his unfair firing by the TV station. He got a big break after he admitted drug use. They held on to him and he showed himself to be a great meteorologist. He openly admitted his problem, sought help and stated that he is in recovery and will likely be forever. A partially clothed photo of him somehow turns up in an email to the station manager and he is let go. Say what? He didn't send the photo nor did he take it. Who cares if people have seen what he looks like under his clothes? There are thousands of nude photos of famous people all over the web and they don't lose movie contracts because of that! Where is the logic?

Sounds like "we can deal with drug addiction but we can't deal with an employee who might be gay." Just my opinion.

I no longer watch WSLS channel 10 in Roanoke, Virginia. One Roanoker is working on a petition to get Jamey re-hired.
