Subject: 1977 bally arm locked, even after coin enters

I have a 1977 bally one dollar slot machine. Ordered Eisenhower silver dollars, plugged in and all lights up. Insert coin(s) and they fall down to the hopper where they seem they should go ( the bottom metal collector, not the pay pan) and pull the arm, it's locked. It buzzes louder when the arm is pulled down. Arm only moves 1/4" or so, is locked. Any ideas what is wrong? Are these the correct coins? They seem like they are, and I checked the era of slot, I think their right. Thank you
