What kind of BV do you have? Is it getting power and cycling? There are numerous things that could be wrong but it shouldn’t be hard to fix. Look for the main things such as power, if its enabled then post what you find.

I am not sure what kind of bill acceptor it is there is a tag saying IDO 23 on the top if that means anything. Where do I look?

An IDO 23 is a chip the original BV’s used to talk to the program chip of the game so this must be a 135,145 or the upgrade 200 head. The older 135,145 are usually silver or gold and the 200 black.
The deference between these is the bills they can accept the newer 200 can be flashed to take any bill.

The first thing to do is make sure it is enabled; push the white self-test switch to the bill acceptor page and you should see enabled disabled.

If the BV is enabled check to see if it is getting power by cycling the BV. Basically pull the first plug on the left side of the BV plug it back in. It should power on and run through its cycle for 4-5 seconds with no grinding.

If there is no power then could be power supply, BV head BV transport.

If you hear grinding then check the can and make sure it is seated properly and the transport gears for any breaks.
