Have a Bally's standard upright Double Eagle .25 cent machine. Moved and put in storage worked fine before. Now won't accept coins, just drop in front, counter in upper left front corner of lower section continues to click away. There are two reset buttons above the coin collection bucket. The one on the right seems to run a self check up to 10. the one on the left resets the door alarm. ther is also a reset button on the inside door if you press it while the door is open you can pull the lever, but close the door and nothing. in the Win window you get a 4.9. in the PAID and CREDIT windows you get a J.P. can you help Thanks

The first thing to try would be to blow out any dust that may have gotten around the REEL optics and so on. Then pull out the MPU board push down on the CHIPS making sure they are seated properly then push the MPU back in making sure it is in place also. Quite often during a move the MPU will come loose and need to be pushed into place again. Be careful not to bend any pins on the MPU when pulling it in or out.

If those things donít work then the problem may be more serious. I donít have the manual on hand only the 5500 manual. Bally games are notorious for needing RAM Clearís and having bad power supplies. There are two types of RAM Clearís one requires a Clear Chip for a full clear the other does a soft clear. Do you have the manual? I would try a RAM Clear first unless you have a spare power supply board that you could swap out.

Since the game was working before storage I would think reseating the MPU and the CHIPíS would fix your problem; although, I have seen Bally games get powered off then not come back because of a bad power supply or need a RAM CLEAR. Let me know how it goes.

Try www.slotdoctor.com. These people know everything about many kinds of slots. I had a Bally 5000+ and they not only fixed my power supply, but sent me pictures showing me exactly how to remove it! The ram had to be cleared also, but this was not known until the power supply was repaired first. All the info I needed was provided via download or email.
They also helped me with an old Bally 742 electromechanical machine. There was a small fee involved but the service was first class and I hate swimming around all over for answers. If you are truly are serious about fixing your game, slotdoctor.com is the answer! They will tell you from the beginning if your machine can be repaired. Hope this helped, Ed Hicks
