CLEANING UP THE FAMILY BUSINESS

The straight and narrow can be an awfully rocky path, in ABC's new comedy-drama Scoundrels-based on the New Zealand hit Outrageous Fortune-a family of hoods tries to become responsible members of society after their patriarch (JAG's David James Elliott) is sent off to the big house. Taking the reins is their moral-compass mom Cheryl West (Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen), who insists that her children all get honest jobs.
Of course, the temptation to stray is just around the corner-especially when the Wests experience the harsh reality of 9-to-5 life. "This family decides to [live] the legitimate way, but when they go into the real world, they think, 'Wow, and you thought we were crooked'!" says executive producer Lyn Greene, who with producing partner, Richard Levine, spent seven years on Nip/Tuck before helping bring the thick-as-thieves Wests to an American audience. "But bad as these supposedly nefarious lawbreakers are, they would do anything for each other." Greene adds, "They're family." Granted, one whose father figure, Wolfgang, is a guest of the state. At least temporarily. "Wolf will be getting out." teases Levine, anticipating the steamy chemistry between co-stars Elliott and Madsen. "He and Cheryl will be a couple you don't see a lot on television."

[> [> [> [> [> your welcome - had to smile at the end when it states that "Wolf will be be getting out"...... no surprise that he'll no longer be "a guest of the state" since he will be an important part of the success of the show -- ED, 10:52:21 06/02/10 Wed [1]
