I am sort of wondering the same thing. I started dancing 2 years ago. I am now 25 and have competed in the adult category for solo competitions and for teams. I am in the New England region and would like to be pretty competitive in my solo competitions as well as with teams, but it seems that adult categories are not really taken seriously, at least not in this region. Often there is one first place, one or two second, then everyone else gets third, even if 10 people were competing. I would rather know exactly what my standing is. Also, many of the adults just compete for fun, which is perfectly fine, but I tend to be more competitive. Also, adults are all lumped together in the NE region, so I am competing against people of every level. My teacher said I should enter feisanna without an adult category so I could do the and-overs. I think that it doesn't matter what age the other competitors are, it's the skill that counts, and you have probably more years of experience than some of the younger dancers, so I say go for it!
