Subject Author Date Wigs are not necessary but uniformity is. Every dancer's hair should look the same. Wigs are one way to get a uniform look, especially if hair lengths vary greatly. My team has worn wigs at some competitions and not at others but we always make sure our hair is styled in the same manner.
