I see that you agree; I'm in the same boat, I agree but my TC doesn't. Plus, I also do not want to jeopardize my ceili; I love it way too much. Then again, do I love it because I can compete with it, with the same standards/choreography/etc. as all other team ceili? Think about the differences - or lack thereof - of competitive ceili and competitive solo. For adults, the solo comps have so many different rules; the ceili, not so much.

Anyway, what I keep wondering is: if "they" got rid of ALL adult categories, solo and ceili, and expected all current adults to compete in whatever oldest age category they decide, then that oldest category would become adults. We'd still all be dancing together; right now adults are split into even smaller competitive subcategories because some can and want to drop down; others - for various reasons - don't.

There's got to be a better solution than what's going on now.
