Subject: I'm not clear on this either - when the centre couples (now in posns 2 and 3) are exchanging, which couple is holding hands? From the book I would say those in posn 2 retain hands,

So, the very first time they move, couples 1 and 3 hold hands. Now couple 1 and 4 are in the middle, and couple 1 drop hands bc they are in position 2 and couple 4 take hands bc they are in position 3.
