Thailand- clear winner in Asia and Oceania.. very consistent!!  Philippines- great host, advantage  Japan- i have high hopes on this girl.. great catwalk!  India.. strongest of the Femina i think..  also Korea, Australia and Indonesia in Africa.. i think only SOuth Africa and Nigeria shines...   North America including Carribeans.. Cuba-so stunning!  USA- she's very smart and polished too  Puerto Rico- fierce looking!  Jamaica- beautiful black..  also Turks and Caicos, Dom Republic, Mexico and South America.. Venezuela- very beautiful and polished  Colombia- angelic  Brazil- so ready!  also Ecuador, Peru and Argentina i think many Europeans will make it this year: Latvia- beautiful blond!  Northern Ireland- Goddess!  Spain- very beautiful  Czech Rep- got feeling she will surprise us..  Russia- sexy babe! Ninety of the Earth's most beautiful paraded for the 2009 Miss Earth Beauty Pageant Press Presentation, held on November 4, 2009, at Mader’s Garden. The delegates voiced out the continuous campaign, “beauties for a cause.”   Press Presentation was held today. Standouts were the Brazil who looks like an Indian Supermodel, Cuba who has a great resemblance to Natalie Glebova and Priscilla Perales, Czech Republic who looks lovely and sweet, Jamaica who is the Mirriam Odemba of this year's batch, Latvia who looks like a living barbie doll, Paraguay who looks like Pricilla Meirelles in some angles, Philippines, Poland, Spain who looks ravishing, Thailand the best looking Asian girl, Turks and Caicos, and the Victoria Secret Supermodel look-alike Venezuela.  Pleasant Surprises: Guam, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Martinique, Serbia and Singapore. Half Filipina Factor! Miss Honduras is half-Filipina, her family and relatives live in Davao while Miss Guam who has a relative in Pangasinan. Miss Pakistan Ayesha Gilani and Miss Cuba Jamillette Gaxiola are surprisingly strong delegates but they represent countries with strange relationships with beauty pageants. Pakistan is a conservative Islamic country grappling extremism while Cuba is a communist country that thinks pageants are bourgeois events. Miss Pakistan Ayesha Gilani owns one of the alluring face in the pageant but stands shorter than most delegates. Miss South Sudan Aheu Deng impressed everyone with her towering height of 6'5". She is the tallest delegate in any of the Big Four pageant to date. Many critics were disappointed with Miss Mexico Natalia Quiñónez who looked different from her posted photos.  NEW FINALS FORMAT! The World Finals will be on November 22, 2009 at the Boracay Convention Center, in the Boracay Eco Village Resort in Yapak, Boracay Island. Due to high quality of delegates competing this year, eighteen (18) semi-finalists will be chosen this year to compete in the Swimsuit competition. They will be trimmed to twelve for the Evening Gown competition until only Eight exceptional ladies would remain to compete for the following titles: Miss Earth, Miss Earth-Air, Miss Earth-Water, and Miss Earth-Fire in the Final Interview Competition. The winner will be crowned the 9th Miss Earth! The National Costume contest was held in the afternoon at the Amazing Theater at Pasay City. Miss Tanzania Evelyn Almasi won the Best in National Costume. Miss Puerto Rico Dignelis Taymà Jimenez won the Placenta Special Award for being the delegate with the best looking and glowing skin and Miss Guam Maria Luisa Santos won the Miss PASIGandahan for the most natural and beautiful looking delegate. Date Posted: Sat, Nov 07 2009, 12:41:13 A Night to Remember By Ara Gonzales A night full of beauty, elegance, glitter, and prestige- that’s how I can describe the pre-pageant long gown competition of Miss Erath 2009 last night November 7, 2009 held at Subic Bay Yacht Club. There were 26 goddesses of the earth that took the runway by storm as they ramp gracefully wearing their long gown. Here are the complete pictures of the 26 lovely girls. Miss Brazil is very sweet, she gives me her personal leaflet that promotes her country. She is very tall, beautiful, and her personality is very vibrant. Miss Paraguay and Guatemala accidentally exchanged their sash but both girls are very polite. Miss Paraguay is beautiful. Her beauty is very prominent. Picture number one is Miss El Salvador. I actually look for her to take her picture personally for my friend who made her national costume. But when I approach her she is all smiles and she even asks me if I saw her sash. This girl is very friendly and also beautiful up close. Puerto Rico is also friendly and very beautiful also Tanzania and Nigeria. All in all the girls are friendly and beautiful. So for those who are under estimating these girls, please stop it because they are all beautiful in their own way. The top 5 placer for this segment are Brazil, Guam, Mexico, Paraguay, and Thailand. Date Posted: Fri, Nov 06 2009, 20:45:50 Miss Turks and Caicos (TCI News TV) Laoag Loves Us November 5, 2009 · No Comments Beauty sleep apparently isn’t the order of the day in a beauty pageant. Like Miss Northern Ireland said, “How are we supposed to be beautiful if we’re not gettin’ beauty sleep?!” Especially if we were gonna be meeting our fans today. Haha. Not that we KNEW about the welcome reception that awaited us. We were told to dress comfortably in jeans and a red Miss Earth top for our flight to Laoag. Emblazoned on the front our mini tops were the words “I am Miss Earth”. As if the green sashes proudly declaring our the pageant and our countries weren’t statement enough. Haha. Naturally, a bunch of already tall girls pottering about with luggages on tall heels attracts attention. But with the eye-catching red tops and green sashes, we were suddenly celebrities in the local airport. I cannot even begin to describe the attention we got. We thought the picture taking was crazy at the Manila airport, what with people trying to sneak shots of us as we were eating, but we had only just gotten the least of it. Laoag took us by storm. Upon touch down at the Laoag International Airport we were so mesmerized by the blue skies and vast lands that the welcome reception for us was ignored. People were waiting for us and there even was a band playing, but truth be told, we did not expect any of it. When our attention was finally drawn to it, we were overwhelmed. Officials came to meet us and we were given traditional sunhats alongside ribbons. Hey, there even was a brochure with our faces printed on it! Haha. Welcome ribbons donned, the following awesome motorcade was particularly memorable. Riding in the brilliant sun atop open top jeeps and seeing the cheering crowds lining the streets waiting to catch a glimpse of us made it seem as though we were Hollywood celebrities. Not something we were used to. With their mobile phone cameras pointed at us, trying to snap whatever picture they could, it was a reception to remember. We were whisked away in a blink of an eye to the almost complete convention center for important business: tree planting. It’s not all fun and games boys and girls. We girls are here with a mission and tree planting is one small step we took today in helping to promote our green cause. But once we got the serious business out of the way, we got to enjoy the native lands. After touring our first destination, Saint Augustine’s church, we exited to a massive crowd of cheering, screaming and delirious “fans” - a stark contrast to the quiet and serene interior of the church. The school going kids wanted pictures. We gave them that and more. Handshakes set them screaming wildly and brought them to the brink of tears. It was like we were Beyonce. With an important and strong environmental message that is. We also visited the Marcos Mausoleum of the late President Ferdinand R. Marcos, watched how local food Empanada was prepared and toured another church. Wherever we went, the entourage followed. Even when we had some delish local food, the crowd was never too far behind. They peered in through whatever available windows there were, never giving their trigger happy fingers any rest. They waved, grinned and watched every move we made. Even as we were shoving the famous Pinakbet pizza and fried corn kernels down our throats, they were there watching us like a hawk. Haha. The Ilocos Norte hospitality was amazing; they fed us with too much food. We ate non-stop and ate too much because it’s a waste to let scrumptious food go wasted. Again I’m typing in the dark as the other girls nod off on the way back to our beautiful resort. We’re staying here in Laoag for 2 days before setting off to another province. It’s been an amazing and exhilarating day. Wow. We’re so thankful that the beautiful people here are giving us great memories to bring home to our respective countries.
