] Date Posted: Mon, Aug 15 2011, 19:28:06 By The Bahamas Weekly News Team Aug 12, 2011 - 9:47:53 AM ![]() Miss Earth Bahamas participates in the Emancipation Day Tree Planting initiative Freeport, Bahamas - Just weeks after being crowned, Miss Earth Bahamas 2011 is on the move in her local community of Grand Bahama. Kerel Pinder proudly joined the Alpha Kappa Sorority in tandem with the 'We the People' Tree Planting Day on August 1st, in celebration of Emancipation Day. Miss Earth Bahamas says she hopes to plant 50 trees throughout her year of reign and thought this was a great way to start! Later on that same week Miss Pinder had the awesome privilege of being invited to speak to the children of Munroe's Tennis Camp, on the importance of GOING GREEN! The children learned about 10 different things that they could do personally, in efforts to GO GREEN! They were also reminded of the importance of it and how it eventually effects all of us. The children seemed to enjoy the talk and had the opportunity to take pictures with Miss Earth Bahamas in her crown and sash on the tennis court. "This is the reason I am involved in pageantry; having the opportunity to make an impact and difference among the younger generation of my community and country. I am looking forward to many more opportunities like this one!" she said. Busy days continue for Miss Earth Bahamas this week as she shot her official photos for Miss Earth with local photographer Mark Winder in Grand Bahama at the Lucayan National Park. ![]() Left to Right Kimberly Miller- Kemp,(Chapter PR), Anya Valdes ( Chapter President), and Kerel Pinder Miss Earth Bahamas ![]() Kerel Pinder Miss Earth Bahamas talks to the Campers of the East End Munroe's Tennis Camp ![]() Kerel Pinder Miss Earth Bahamas and staff of the East End Munroe's Tennis Camp Source: http://www.thebahamasweekly.com/publish/community/Miss_Earth_Bahamas_2011_in_Action17349.shtml [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
