Die blaue Farbe der Flüssigskeitssäule wird durch eine blaue Linie in der Kapillare erzeugt, die dort, wo sich Quecksilber bzw. Galinstan befindet, sichtbar wird (Spiegelung, Lichtbrechung oder wie auch immer das funktioniert). Ich habe z.B. auch noch ein "neueres" Quecksilberthermometer, wo die Flüssigkeit nicht silbrig, sondern blau erscheint. Und alle meine Galinstan-Fieberthermometer haben das auch. Das Ganze dient als Ablesehilfe. Aber egal, ob du jetzt Quecksilber oder Galinstan in den Popo gesteckt bekommst, es ist in jedem Fall genaues Fiebermessen. ;-)
