I ain't sure that I may be the only one on here that uses them but has anybody gotten a chance to use the new CCI 4 flange musket caps yet? RWS musket caps are getting to be in short supply nowadays and expensive (damn blockade!) so I've been trying to find other sources without much luck.

I like looking at all the Civil War collectable websites.

I found these in my travels.

Cartridges & primers were packaged together.

They threw in a couple extra primers in the package, for good reasons, I'm sure...

here is the link.

Was a successful hunt ...dropped a 1,400 lb Buff with one shot through both shoulders at 55 yards bullet exited out the far shoulder leaveing a 90 caliber size hole , useing the soft lead .535 gr Lyman Postell bullet over 68 gr of 2f Goex .
I`ll try and get some pics up soon but my wife had the camera on movie instead of still frame pics . so it will take some figureing out to capture a still frame from them .
We just got back last night and I`ve alot to do right now ...I will be back latter .

SG, start sending up smoke signals and see if the renegade buff. hunters respond. They may be lost, Fuzz and I will start putting together a search party on this end and be ready to head out. They have to be somewhere inbetween me and you. I'll go outside and shoot up in the air 3 times and see if they respond.

Well I have joined the ranks of the Sharps shooters finally. I found one tonight that had the right sights and a "BITE IT NOW BUTTON" with a price I couldn't pass up. I took it hook line and sinker and ran for home. I bought a Pedersoli long range model 45-70.

O.K. Fish and Sundance, I guess the agrivation, stomping and swearing at this thing will begin shortly. Now I got to buy a bunch of reloading stuff. I'm already getting a headache, na, this should be fun and interesting.

Already got some extra fancy wood picked out for a restocking, I'm gonna be busy for a while.

The next post from this puter will be from OK buff camp. It is going in its carry bag along with its wireless telegraph and buff guns, cameras and etc. We should be up and running Sun. night.
I will be on my way home tomorow and then off to fort Sundance to pick up our partners in the voyage west. I wonder if Sundance will let me hold his new pistola. If we can get him away from his range finder. He probably has every fence, horses, dogs, trees and anything that don't move mapped out to the 1/2 yard.
Take care everyone, we will be up and running soon.

Anyway this one could be interesting with a conversion cylinder ...I wonder do they make a gated one for it ?

It is about the percussion type sharps like SG has. Does it have a chamber like the regular type sharps, or is it rifled all the way to the end like a muzzleloader? Is there such a thing called a brass insert that holds the powder and a bullet? The pic. I saw looked just like a regular loaded 45-70 round. Do you load this thing without a primer in the end of the case and the precussion cap sets it off. Or is this guy an idiot?

We were talking on an earlyer post about being sure to place the hammer on half cock before dropping the loading lever on a 1874 Sharps rifle .
I was priming some of my cases this morning and noticed out of 50 cases 2 had fireing pin drag marks on the bottom of the cases ....I always try to be sure and place my hammer at half cock ...but one can forget ...I was lucky ..my fireing pin is ok ....but I do keep a spare .
Murphys Law will get ya sooner or latter .
