Penn State went two for two on top targets on Tuesday evening, as Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep quarterback Brandon Wimbush selected the Nittany Lions.

Wimbush chose the Nittany Lions over Ohio State, Miami, Boston College and Virginia Tech. He also had scholarships in hand from Alabama, LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee and others.

"I picked Penn State because I felt like it was the best fit for me personally," he told Lions247 on Tuesday morning. "There are great guys all around the program and it will give me the opportunities that I need. It was just the vibe that I got with the coaching staff and the QB coach, personally.

"I'm very, very, very, very excited."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect completed 93 of 156 passes for 1,472 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran for 579 yards and seven touchdowns.

Wimbush is the No. 159 prospect in the country, the No. 3 player in New Jersey and the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Per the 247Sports rankings, he is the No. 178 prospect nationally, the No. 7 dual-threat passer and the No. 4 player in the Garden State.

He has been selected to compete in the prestigious final Elite 11 Quarterbacks Camp this summer and has been nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Wimbush was recruited for the Nittany Lions by quarterbacks coach Ricky Rahne and offensive recruiting coordinator Josh Gattis.
