Message Description:
Are you sick and tired of looking at your chubby cheeks and that double chin? Are you desperately looking for ways to lose the fat from your face? Well then, you’re in luck because here on this page well be talking just about that.

Lose overall body fat

Well that’s your first option, and quite a practical one, because when you reduce your overall body fat, your face will slim down as well. So, if you haven’t considered excising for any other reason, here is one strong and compelling reason to lose those extra pounds. But please remember, this method does take a lot of time so you’ll need to be patient.

Good morning,

I have been searching the net for upcoming festivals, parades or simple gatherings for appearance possibilities. Here is what I have found so far. If anyone has any other ideas please get them together. Also, not forgetting the girls that are further out, if there are activities in your areas as well let's try to get as many girls to your side as well.

Of course to afford to enter parades or decorate a float we need some funds. So does anyone have ideas for fundraisers?

Thank you!

Oct 2-4 Seafood Feast in Morehead City

Oct 10-11 Mullet Feast in Swansboro

Oct 10-11 Mum fest in Newbern

Oct 24th Oktoberfest in Jacksonville(older Queens probably )

Nov 7 Veterans Parade in Jacksonville

Nov 7 Holly Fest in Holly Ridge

Nov 27, Christmas Flotilla in Swansboro

Date Posted: 00:58:06 09/02/09 Wed

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the cooler weather like I am.

I know we have been trying to plan the first Queens Court meeting for the 12th. But Ms Lori called and that is the same day as the Richlands Farmers Day Parade. I contacted Amy Rhodes who is the Co-chair for the committee and as you can see the parade fee is more than affordable(see email string below). I know Lori is trying to get a wagon lined up and IF my husband doesn't have duty he will pull it. Will confirm that later this week.

So what we need to come up with is a theme, and to get an idea how many girls want to participate. This event is open to all State Queens and Preliminary Winners that are interested.

I am sure Lori will follow this up with more details. But in the meantime theme theme theme. Seeings it is a Farmers Day Parade and harvest time I was thinking a cute fall harvest theme. Maybe some scarecrows, over sized cut outs of veggies.... If you want to do a reply to all on this we can have a little brainstorming via email! Hope you are all well.

I just had a quick question for those of you who have participated in Sweetheart pageants before, are you letting your daughters wear dresses they have worn previously or buying new dresses?

Also, are you going to use the same patriotic wear from Sunday for Little Miss Patriotic?

Any help would be great, State will only be our third pageant so I wasn't too sure what to do.

I wanted to let everyone know again that I support Julie and her pageant. It is a semi glitz pageant and normally I do not support or promote semi or glitz pageants. But Julie has assured me THat my natural girls will have no problem competing in the pageant. In fact both of my girls are going to do the pageant.

Julie has also given a discount to anyone in my system. Just email and I will let you know how to get this discount of $20.

I believe the Princess of North Carolina system only allows a girl to hold one preliminary title at a time.

It's my understanding, that if your daughter would win a title at Princess of Coastal Carolina, she would have to give up any Princess of Wilmington title she had won earlier.

Yeah, that was just mine and Tyler's picture of our "fantasy" pageant. I love the way your pageants are done and love how your system emphasizes on the girls personality and natural beauty. I know things get costly when it comes to putting on pageants. My thread was really just what Tyler would want if she could have a pageant anyway that she wanted. But it's great that some of our ideas are being used!

HeHeHe oh your opinion will change after you have a mr bud! LOL thank you for you understanding why i do chose to sometimes put her fake hair in! it's really not that you have to have these things to win because Kaylee has won many times without fake hair or fake tanning! However the only reason i fake tan her is well she has a white dress and if i don't then under the lights she looks very washed out. Yes Shannon is correct with Ms Lori's causal walk you can do more upbeat things but in semi glitz you just do your beauty walk however your knees pop out and your arms are a certain way! We have never did a glitz pageant so i couldn't begin to tell you the difference in those pageants! I can tell you this much to each their own. But before you judge a semi glitz try it once and see what you really think! to me personally it's like a dress up party for my girls! I know that sounds weird but they get to put on fancy clothes and get all dolled up! it really does make an effect on Kaylee but not the way that some of you think it does. Actually it's quite the other way. Kaylee seems to pop more on stage and in life general once she has been dolled up! She is much more outgoing since we started pageants!
But i can tell you this much going in blind into a semi glitz is not a good thing. Ask around for people who have done them and get their adivce before trying one. or else you will be in for a big suprise!

My daugther Katie loves doing pageants. Period. She has done natural and semi-glitz. I like them both. In semi-glitz you get to wear makeup and have your hair done. I personally like semi-glitz better. I love seeing Katie in her glitzy dress. I do prefer natural photos but I guess all that might change after we do a Mr. Bud photo shoot. The only difference I see is the casualwear walk. In Ms. Lori's pageants you get to do an upbeat walk/modeling. In PONC, you can't even have upbeat music. It's all about popping the knee, and where to put your hands. I know some moms don't like the make up and fake hair and tan. I have personally never done the fake hair or tan, but Kim does make a point. Whenever we are done at a pageant, Katie has to watch her hair 2x to get all the hairspray and other products out so if we did the fake hair, it would probably save hers. As for the make up, I believe less is more and it only helps to enhance her beauty. All in all I like both systems. HTH, Shannon

Well, I have to say Katie loves to do both pageants. Since Miss Lori's are the only natural one she has ever done, I have to say she's happy with both. Katie enjoys being on stage (if you can't tell). I prefer the semi-glitz because I love seeing Katie all dressed up in her glitzy dress. I do like the make up too because it only enhances her beauty. The only thing that I find different between natural and semi-glitz is the casualwear walk. In Miss Lori's pageants you get to do more upbeat walking and modeling. In PONC, you can't even have upbeat music during casualwear. In semi-glitz it's how you model, popping the knee, where you put your hands. All in all I like both kinds of pageants. If it was up to me, we would retire lol but Katie loves it so much I don't see that happening soon. HTH, Shannon

I am so glad you actually said it is semi glitz. Last year we attended a prelim and were shocked at the hair and makeup. The website specifically says age appropriate hair and make up and that it is a natural, albeit not totally natural, pageant. I don't have a problem with semi glitz, I just don't have the time, knowledge or resources to have my girls compete in that arena. I wish I had known more of what to expect before we had gone. I even went as far as to tell my daughter if she was uncomfortable that we could leave, but she wanted to stay. We were happy, though, I have to say, that she placed 1 st runner up even without professional hair and no makeup at all. She even won overall casual wear with an outfit I got on clearance at Belk for $11. I am glad we stayed because Hannah made friends and had a generally fun afternoon, but I just wish they would update their website to reflect the fact that it really is a semi glitz pageant. I also learned alot about the "glitzier" mom stereotypes. There may be a few that act that way as there are a few soccer moms, cheer moms and any other activity moms that can be less than inspiring company, but from what we experienced, everyone was nice and welcoming.

How does haiving fake hair and makeup "effect them"?
If you mean it effects them by minimizing damage to the child's natural hair and the makeup giving them confidence under the harsh stage lights and making them feel like a princess, yes, I agree it does effect them, in a good way.

I love all of your ideas Dawn, but unfortunately giving tiaras to everyone would be incredibly costly and raise the cost up for the parents and then it wouldn't make it special to be the winner, because then everyone would have one. Pageants are a competition and you have to prepare you daughters for that part of it. Our children follow our lead when it comes to reactions to loss or winning. To be a good winner, you must be a good loser as well. It makes for a very well rounded young lady. Our pageants make sure that everyone walks away with something. All of the ideas are pretty much what we are doing for state. It is very difficult to provide all of that in the time frame we have for each prelim and the budget, that's why we are trying to make state so much fun. I hope this helps.

Miss Lori

The perfect pageant?? Well, first it would emphasize on having fun backstage and on stage, personality, and interacting with all the participants. Girls would be allowed to not only do the beauty and casual wear walks, but runway would be alot of fun to do also. I think a party for all the girls who particpated should be held after the pageant to celebrate their accomplishments. I think that all girls participating should get small crowns for placing and the age division winners and overall winners should get bigger crowns, sashes, and other prizes. I think that all pageants for young children should be natural because putting make up on children and putting fake hair and tans on children has an effect on them.

What the difference between semi glitz and glitz is. We just done our first semi pageant, and did well, but I felt a little out of the loop. I also noticed that the director seemed a little taken aback with all the photos we entered. Should be just be entering a few? I know PONC doesn't allow glitz photos, but if a system does, how toned down should these pics be?
Thanks for the help!

Princess of Wilmington is still taking applications. All age divisions welcome- Little Miss and up needed (ages 7-26). Numbers are really low in the older divisions. Come on ladies this is your chance to qualify for PONC state in August.

Contact me ASAP- tammybaysden@yahoo.com or 252-286-8499

The PONC pageant system is a semi-glitz system. The photogenic pictures should not be enhanced. The casualwear is off the rack yet other than that, I have not really seen much difference between PONC and other systems.

If anyone has anything else to chip in feel free.

Tammy

well I'm not Shannon but Kaylee loves doing semi glitz too! the difference is the pageant dress it's all glitz! They girls get Hair and Makeup done up. The walk isn't really that much different than the natural one.. except certain things like the modeling has to be more straight modeling for the younger girls it really doesn't change much but for the older girls it's not about blowing kisses and things like that it's about where their hands are and how they are presenting themselves. depending on which one you do you can use a glitz photo which Kaylee loved having done! Katie gets to go get it done soon and she will love it too! They girls get to have their makeup done up by one of the top hair and makeup ladys and then mr. Bud will take shots of them and then you chose which one to be glitzed up! Kaylee loves her pic from Mr. Bud! but for Princess they use a more natural look it can have makeup but only to enhance the beauty of the child and for photo reasons with lighting and such.
Kaylee loves doing them because she gets to put on her glitz dress that she likes a lot and she gets to have her hair and makeup done up and she loves her hair and makeup person! oh and a major difference is the girls use fake hair, eyelashes, and some of them do use flippers you don't need to do any of this to win though. Kaylee does have the fake hair only because to me it saves her natural hair from all the chemcials from hair spray and the hot rollars she doesn't use it all the time and has won many times without it in but she has used them as well. We do fake tan her when in a swimsuit only because it looks better than a pale child! again not a thing you must do it's a personal choice. I personally think that Kaylee loves it cause she gets to get all dressed up!

Shannon can you tell all of our new pageant moms the difference between natural and semi-glitz. And why you and Katie like doing them so much. What makes them fun to do? What do you like about them the most, what do you dislike about them. Etc. Thanks Hun.

Could you help all of the new moms and girls the difference between the princess pageants and the sweetheart pageants. What are the requirements of princess, is it glitz, semi glitz, natural, etc. A lot of the new pageant moms, don't know what each pageant expects, offers, etc. I want them to know about all of the different pageants that are available in NC.

Thanks so much,
Miss Lori
