Subject: How Copake Republicans Run a Caucus

Formula For How the Old-Boy Copake Republicans Run A Caucus:

1. Have a handful of entrenched power mongers in town decide who they want their candidates to be.

2. Make sure that you schedule the caucus for a weekday night, to make sure that weekenders, "perceived enemies of the old guard" are not in town.

3. Use Intimidation To Control the Outcome: Load the room up with town and county employees who are afraid to step out of line, lest they might lose their jobs in a county where decent jobs are far and few between.

4. Don't start the meeting with a Pledge of Allegiance. Too much of a waste of time when your Supervisor is more interested in going home as early as possible, then running a proper meeting.

5. Do not allow nominees to address the caucus prior to the voting. Why poison anyone's mind with information?

6. Allow your judicial candidate to second a nomination of another candidate, totally thumbing your nose on the ethical limitations imposed upon judicial candidates. Hey, they're above the law, they way they like their judges.

7. Use Intimidation To Control the Outcome: Make sure the voting at the caucus is by a showing of hands. Be stared down by those in power if you don't cast your vote in the way they want you to.

8. Have no controls over who voted more than once. Do not have any way of auditing those who voted, and how many votes were cast for each nominee, or if anyone voted more than once. Make sure those who do the actually counting of hands are under the thumb of the entrenched town power mongers.

9. Treat your fellow Republicans like sheep, without a mind of their own.

10. Have total disregard for voter's rights and the US Constitution.
