In reply to: So in the last 25 years we have not come up with a plan? Look at all the vacant places on the blvd. We could draw from folks living around us to come a shop here if there was something buy in RO except restaurants! 's message, "Re: Everyone Knows!!!!!!" on 14:37:18 04/25/16 Mon

The Base closing also effected Westworth Village but they are doing well. The Base closing is not the problem. The problem is we have Hobbyists trying to run our city. They don't do anything except come to the meetings and sit at the desk like they are a big shot. River Oaks does not have anything to buy. We need real business minded professionals running our city. When business comes knocking on our door we need to say yes. We need to change. Our ancient processes and procedures are tired and out of date. Lets start with the trash service. Why are we overspending on this service when all of the cities around us have shown us that a third party can do a better job for less money. The even provide a real nice rolling trash can. River Oaks is not ready to have a nice rolling trash can, we would rather throw some bags out to the curb so the dogs can tear them up. How about the library? We either need to partner with our neighbors and share the cost or shut it down. I agree Libraries are nice but our city is in bad shape and we need to use those funds elsewhere. How about the Community Center? can we afford this? Nope, it's just another place that the Hobbyist Council Members can show off and boss the Shirleys around.
