Synopsis of River Oaks City Council Meeting Feb 27, 2018

The meeting started on time. Councilman Holland absent.

First item on the agenda was approval of the consent agenda. Nothing major there.

Next item was discussion or action on changing the lights on the blvd to LED. At this time, they're going to make no changes. They asked the rep. to come back later with more numbers and they may consider the change.

Council approved recommendation from ES and MC awarding the contract to IPR South Central of Pasadena Texas for the sewer improvements for the city's CWSRF Project. This will be for around 3 million dollars In other words, the sewer replacement for a large part of the city.

Council approved Ordinance 1178-2018 approving a tariff authorizing an annual rate review as a substitution for the annual interim rate adjustment defined in the Texas Utilities Code.

Council approved the fiscal year audit report as presented by William Spore, CPA. Nothing earth shaking in his report.

Council approved the communication and subscriber service agreement with FW Regional Radio System in order for River Oaks Public Safety. Fire and Police to join the FW system for maintenance and support related to public radio system infrastructure. This will allow us to communicate without any dead areas with public works, fire, police and other cities in the event of an emergency.

Council approved the contract agreement with LYSA for the use of the McGee Park Ball fields for baseball and softball season.

Council approved the 2017 racial profiling report as presented by Chief Spieldenner. Actual tickets were down to almost less than 1 ticket by each officer on each shift. Kind of takes us off the speed trap list. We can leave that to out neighbor to the west. Councilman Chisholm then questioned the chief on whether he has noticed any increase in crime since the bus service started. Chief stated not that he has noticed and the stats don't show it. What Dan left out is our change from Fords to the Chevy' police vehicles, we now catch the criminals the first time!! just joking. Inside joke between me and Dan.

Last item for the evening was council approved the Inter-office Correspondence Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.

Substandard Houses: looks like three is about the come off the list. leaving four more to go for now

Meeting Adjourned.
