Richard,
Most owners of Feudal Baronies in England are already Peers and use their most senior title. However, my most senior title is that of a Feudal Baron, as I also own Lordships of the Manor. There are some other Feudal Barons that will use their feudal title but I am not a good authority on such. However, I will refer you to some of the few credible sources on the Internet. If you are interested in obtaining a Barony and therefore wish to become a Feudal Baron I would recommend Scottish Feudal Baronies. As a Scottish Feudal Baron you will be entitled to a Coat of Arms matriculated by the Lord Lyon (the Queen’s representative in Scotland) with a Barons Chapeau and supporters. The best source of obtaining Scottish Feudal Baronies is through Mr. Brian Hamilton of Baronytitles.com (http://www.baronytitles.com/). If you are interested in Feudalism in general or wish to obtain a Lordship or Irish Barony the Manorial Society is the best source of information. Led by Mr. Robert Smith, the Manorial Society can help you obtain a title and advise you to its proper use. Strutt and Parker (http://www.struttandparker.co.uk/) is a good source of obtaining an English Barony or Lordship. (For details on English Feudal Baronies or Lordships contact Mr. Stephen Hawes of Strutt and Parker at stephen.hawes@struttandparker.co.uk) I hope that this will help you, as I am not as great an authority as these professional sources.
Best Wishes,
Maurice, Baron Beauchamp of Liddel
