I think I understand how you, Joel and Sean felt when the neighbor lady showed up. You did what you did trying to avoid more trouble and in the process got yourselves in more trouble. As an adult, I don't like it when kids screw up but I like it even less when they try to cover it up. I am reminded of the story of Adam and Eve in the Bible when they ate the fruit off the tree they weren't supposed to. God was upset that Adam and Eve ate the fruit but I think He was even more upset that they tried to cover it up. (I don't know if you guys attend church or not but I recommend it. Might even keep you out of trouble.)

I am glad to hear that you see the error of your ways regarding your conspiracy to get Joel paddled at school. That is no way to treat a friend let alone a brother. Joel is a big man to forgive you the way he did. He would be justified in warming up your backside with his grandfather's razor strop.
