Well the belt I wear with my blue jeans (I had jean shorts on at the time) is pretty wide and thick and I'm sure it could've delivered quite a sting. I wonder, though, if my appearance had something to do with it as I am currently sporting a short high 'n tight haircut this summer (down to the wood on the sides and back and barely enough on top to comb).

I had to choose my words carefully and there was a limit and I probably couldn't have gone much further than what I did or I could have very easily ended up like that guy at the golf course that Joel, Sean, Luke, and Cody testified against. I wouldn't want THAT to happen.

Sometimes I actually think teens secretly want their parents, their friends' parents, teachers, principals, and coaches to put their foot down and apply the wood or leather to get their points across if necessary.

Anyway, I am glad I was able to get through to this kid on smoking. However, I guess I'll be left wondering if I got through to him on his dire need for a haircut. Anyone care to share their guesses on this one? :D
