Hey Luke

I'm pleased to hear that you told your dad about the speeding ticket and that he was so understanding. Since it appears that you got nailed for going less than 10 miles over the speed limit i'm pretty sure your ticket will qualify for traffic school. So call the police dept and see what the fine is and pay for the traffic school. They should give you a list of court approved schools in your area and in some cases like here in california there are online traffic schools. When i got a speeding ticket 8 years ago i got nailed in a speed trap too, so i paid the fine and did my traffic school online. So the record was erased and my insurance rates did not go up.

I know what you mean about being embarrassed probably a little scared too when you see those red light flashing. I know i was and i was 24yo at the time. Joel needs to stop yapping about speed traps like they are a trick or something. Speed traps are designed to catch drivers speeding. They are legal and they park their patrol cars so hidden from view. Everybody hates them but IF you're not speeding nothing to fear right? So if you speed, get caught, get spanked with a ticket. Its as simple as that. It doesn't really matter why or any excuses you make to an officer. Once they pull you over most of the time they issue a ticket.

I'm proud of you that you asked your dad to paddle your butt. Don't pay any attention to Joel saying you should not have been spanked. You asked for it and you dad obliged. Nothing wrong with taking your 'lumps'--umm swats.
