Hey Luke, gets clear the record right off & now. I'm was not mad at you when I messaged yesterday & am not mad at you now. Maybe disappointed because I've seen a better little dude than you were showing that night at McDonald's. I chewed Joel's ass for paddling you later when you guys got home cause that was not his responsibility. If you don't believe, ask Joel. Luke, you're not a hell of a lot different than I probably was at 17. My old man whipped my bare ass for the last time at 17 cause of my mouth & attitude cause me cared enough and was trying to prove to me I was a better young man than I was demonstrating. He didn't have a piece of wood engraved "ATTITUDE ADJUSTER" so resorted to the next best available, his old worn belt. He didn't want to whip my ass but I did everything to push him just like you weren't thinking when egging Joel at McDonald's. So cool your head down & prove you are the young man I've come to know on this forum. Maybe I have no more right to chew you than I criticized Joel for paddling you but maybe also, we think too highly of you to just brush off because you had a bad or stupid moment. Don't think I owe my little dude buddy an apology but if I do, I offer an apology to you.

Joel likely had the dad/son talk at my suggestion. He may now be looking at that as a bad decision. I honestly think it was the right thing for him & would have been a good idea for you too.

> I have no hard feelings against you, Dave or Steve
>for doing that. You were acting like responsible Big
>Brothers and friends/buddies. I guess you guys really
>got to Joel for him to want to talk with his dad, and
>yes I think it backfired on him!

I'm glad you say 'no hard feelings'. I'd be proud to include you along with Joel & Kyle on my list of "little bros" but you got to know up front, sometimes a big bro who really cares kicks ass, or at least I do, when I think my little bro is screwing up in ways that might hurt him. So if you want to take the chance with me as an honorary big bro, you know where I stand.

> Joel tried to defend me, but it was a lost cause with
>our dad's. My dad said he was glad that Joel paddled
>me and he was going to have Joel do it again to me,
>after he paddled me for putting Joel in danger of
>fighting.

You got a damn good friend & buddy in Joel, Luke. Defends & stands by you. That is what you forgot at McDonald's. He even took the lead going first with his dad--like a big bro would. After, he wanted you to stay that night & you say he offered again after the Friday game. You think it was easy for him to pull down sweats & boxers for an ass whuppin in front of you? I was no more p-ssed with you than Joel. Recall if you can, I defended you a ways back when at the dorm & it was an uncalled for fight between Joel & Kyle over the prank. When you're right little dude, I'll back you 100%.

> I guess it comes down to this, I (Luke) got paddled
>by my dad for being the jerk to put Joel in danger of
>fighting the dude and egging the kid on, and he wanted
>Joel to paddle me (even again) to make it up to Joel
>for putting him in danger of a fight.

In truth, you think your dad was wrong Luke? I do think that Joel's dad was wrong in having Joel paddle you again. It contradicts why Joel got his paddling. If anyone should paddle you for putting Joel in danger, it would be Joel's dad with your dad's consent. Quite frankly, I think the 12 swats from your dad was sufficient; for Joel too.

Joel is so protective of that paddle he has, he probably would not have wanted it used on your butt. Recall you saying back in December when you & Kyle were listening from the door of Joel's room how that paddle wood sounded. Well you now saw it in action. From what you saw, think it could adjust your attitude as well as the ATTITUDE ADJUSTER?

> Yes, my dad has never paddled me bare ass in front of
>Joel or any other friend.

Was it difficult for you to take down your jeans & drawers with Joel & his dad present or being a room of guys, was it just flash back regrets knowing what that paddle had done previously to Luke's little butt cheeks?

>He must have not been to mad as he asked to have me
>stay over night, thought buddies should be together at
>time like this.

Good thought. Joel is an A+ buddy it sounds. Bet you dudes did plenty of rapping about your sore tail ends once the butt rubbing was over. The 24 swats you each endured had to leave a red blaze on your asses.

> I almost bawled, had watery eyes giving Joel that
>paddling. I must credit Joel, after all was done he
>gave me a brotherly hug and even his dad. Whow!

Well, if you don't mind me saying 'little bro'...Luke, I only hope yu realize I said what I said. You may not want this advice since it led Joel to an undesired experience with his dad, but if anything like thatn jerk after the game happens again, talk it over with your dad or go to your coach after (not in the jerk's presence like a little kid snitching) & talk it out. It clears the air & remember Luke, older guys, be them dad or a big brother, have likely been down the same road a time or two & might just have good advice or be so proud you ask to have them share advice or experience with you. Bet your dad can recall a time or two he flubbed up at 17 too & maybe even recalls your grandpa tan his bare hide with a similar paddle as a need wake-up call.

Hang tough little buddy...little bro.
