Hey, guys. Hope that everyone is having a good year so far. Time is counting down to the big event in July. Alan is going to be there and I was hoping that if Alan could come, so could Derek.
Anyway, I'm still planning on going to Edinburgh in March 2011 if someone would care to go also and share expenses. I've always wanted to go and if I could catch up to Derek and buy him dinner or a drink on his birthday---well, "CHEERS!" as Ian says.
I think of you all often and don't get on much because I'm working two jobs so that I can go next year. This is so important to me, that I can't focus on anything else but that. I want to go while I'm still young. Let's do something about getting together if possible and making a great 60th birthday for our man, Derek!!!!

It is also been a sad time for all of us that have lost dear friends and loved ones. I read a quote the other day that I feel is very poignant at this time of year... "It reminds us that we are here for something else besides ourselves".

was sorry to see your My Space go down. I had sent you a few messages, but never got a response. I was trying to ask you about the nursing profession. I have since taken Certified Nursing Assistant classes, passed them, and the first part of December 2009, I got a CNA job.

Derek, I have been a big fan of yours and all of the Bay City Rollers for a long time. just the music. It would really be nice to hear from you sometime.

Today's update is the saddest e-mail I have ever sent (and I'm only writing this so I can tell everyone at once). Teresa passed away at 4 am this morning. Overnight she started going into cardiac arrest and after several resuscitations, her body just finally gave up the fight. She is now in heaven, watching over us and her suffering is over.

Her mom and brother are headed home today. As for funeral arrangements, etc. I don't know what is going on. Her mom had her medical power of attorney, but her son Christopher has the power of attorney related to everything else, including burial. I am hoping her ex-husband David steps in to help out, but I don't know what is going to happen. I will keep you apprised of what I know when I find out.

Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. Now we need them for ourselves and her family.

I was so broken-hearted to hear this news the other day. The last that I'd heard from Terry is that she was a "smidge" better. I've cried for two days and still feel as if I've a hole in my heart. Does anyone have a picture we could do a small memorial for her on here? I'm going to miss her and did a dedication on the radio to her this morning. Sent her off to "Saturday Night." What utterly tragic news it is about our dear Teresa :(( I am so very very sad that this horrible flu has taken her from us.

First off, I was wrong about the medication they were giving Teresa. They were giving her a strong H1N1 drug, but in pill form. THey got the ok from the FDA to use the IV version last night and got her started on it.

When I talked with her nurse this afternoon, she was doing better. The nurse did say that H1N1 patients can have a good day, then a bad day, but that today was a good day. They have Teresa in this special bed so they can rotate her and she was doing well lying face up - something she hasn't been able to handle the past few days. So she is better than yesterday, but still critical.

Her mom and brother will be here on Saturday and I am hoping to meet up with them and see Teresa on Sunday.

This is an e-mail from Terry Harter. She recieved word from Teresa's brother by e-mail.
Here is an e-mail I just got from Teresa's brother, Henry (Anna's husband)

"I talked with Teresas nurse this afternoon. She said her stats fell a little lower, She is not having a good day. They now have had to paralyze her to oxygenate her.She also told me that only one other person in her condition has survived at their hospital.... ..

New info coming in.... They have got Teresa in a special bed now.. Have her face down..

Nurse asked moms permission to try experimental drug from CDC. Mom gave permission.

Should obtain drug from CDC no later than tues. morning. This is a (last ditch effort) according to nurse. Stay in touch, Henry"

That information was from Sunday. Today (Monday) she was starting to respond to the experimental drug and is no longer paralyzed and face down. She will continue to have dialysis and she is still heavily sedated. This is a hopeful sign but she is not out of the woods yet. Please keep up the prayers and healing thoughts -- they are working! I just got off the phone with Teresa's son. The nurses said his mom's oxygen levels have gone up slightly overnight, which is a good thing. They've got her sedated and intubated now.

I believe she's expected to remain in the hopsital anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks. Because she is in the Critical Care Unit, they can't accept flowers or food, but if you'd like to send a card the address is:

I know that lastnight, as I was first hearing about this, my mind went immediately to some terrible thoughts, but let's all try to keep our thoughts positive and concentrate on healing energies for our Sweet-T. Our friend, Teresa Stevenson, is in the ICU ward at her local hospital with double pnemonia.
Teresa was the first Online Roller friend I met in person. It was at the Anahiem fest in '05. She is a sweet and dear person who has had to suffer through a lot of *stuff* in her life. I am asking all who visit to say prayers or light candles for her recovery. She is one of us - a true friend and Roller fan. She is also co-moderator of Derek's Yahoo group.

Sorry that I haven't kept up but I've decided to get some medical bills out of the way and to save up for a trip to Scotland so I've taken a 2nd job. Ugh! But I've saved $250 toward the cause so far. Needless to say, I'm worn out from that, my day job, and everyday life---including an uncle that is dying of cancer.

There used to be a BCR fan database that was put together by Connie Cojelic (cant remember how to spell her last name). I have it on my computer at work, and its in excel so it can be sorted by country and city. Its only as good as the people who signed up for it, and if they kept those email addresses. hi, my name is jenni, i live in louisville, kentucky in the u.s., and i had an idea i wanted your opinion on. if the bay city rollers reunited for one show, they could sell dvds of it or they could do a pay-per-view concert online. either way, they could make themselves quite a bit of money and make all of their many fans-both old and new-extremely happy!! i've had a lot of positive feedback on the idea, but the main thing is, would the guys do it? what do you think?

I agree with May. I dont think the guys would do it. As she said Derek has his career in nursing and has moved on. Les has stated he plans to retire in 2010 and hang up his microphone. Eric is releasing new music, and Woody is running a producing a number of bands with his production company. I got off work early today and I headed to the mall near by me and while I was walking and looking in the stores, they played I only wanna be with you ... and yes it was the Bay City Rollers version.... It just made me so happy. I totally just got lost into the song and didn't even care why I was at the mall at all...

Yesterday the world lost two well loved icons - Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.
Farrah was the woman we ladies all wanted to look like. She had the smile, the body and especially the hair. But she was also a truly great actress. She played a rape victim getting revenge in the play 'Extremities' on Broadway and then played the role in a movie. I felt this was the best role she ever had. She will still be loved for many years to come.
Michael Jackson started as a great singer and dancer with his brothers, then went on to become a powerful entertainer. I, personally, feel that his fame would have been tripled had he not had so many excentricities. All in all though he was a dynamic entertainer. The type many strived to emulate.
Rest In Peace Farrah.

Thursday was a really crappy day, and I for one am still in shock. I did expect Farrah to not make it to the weekend, but losing Michael just gutted me (as Lisa Marie Pressley said in her blog). I just finished taking my Medical Terminology final. I earned a 97%. I will wait until they approve my work and then it's on to the Transcription course.
To be perfectly honest, I had doubted I could do this. Well, let's face it, I have not been able to get a job in almost 10 years. Add to that the lack of encouragement from

Patricia, you can do anything you set your mind to. As long as you have the desire and drive to do this, you will succeed, but you have to do it for yourself. On Friday I sent a few pictures of Derek thru the Walgreens website to print some 4 x 6 for my shadowbox, and upon arriving at the store, and finding out they hadn't even started the printing process, I decided to wait, and I am SO GLAD I did. The lady (Mindy) started printing the pictures and asked "WHY ARE YOU PRINTING PICTURES OF MY BOYFRIEND"? I almost fell off the stool, and said, why are you making comments about MY boyfriends (or something like that). Turns out, she is a Derek fan, and apparently thru the years she has let her husband know (met him briefly he has a great smile) that Derek was her FIRST TRUE LOVE. We had a chance to talk, she is one of triplets who had a great mom who let them put BCR posters all over the wall, and play their music. She said she got to see the guys, I think in Utah, and on their way to the car, she reached out to touch Derek, and ended up with a handful of shirt, it ripped. She was horrified for a second, but said she ended up tying that piece of plaid around her ankle and she never took it off, she slept in it, showered in it, wore it everywhere, until it finally rotted and fell off. Now ladies THAT IS A FAN!!!!!!!!!! I told Mindy I would tell her story here, and gave her the link to the board. I hope you all welcome her when she posts, and I hope to get to meet her again one day soon. Shelly, you and I need to get together and watch DVD's with her.

For those of you here who do not already know, I thought I would tell you why I am not on as much as I used to be. As of the second week of March, I have been taking a Medical Terminology class in preparation for the Medical Transcription program I wanted to go into. Well, tonight I took the 4th section review and got a 100% on the test. I now have only 5 chapters to go before I take the final for the class. I think I may be able to get it done in about a week or so, which is about a year sooner than I am allowed for the class.
I will continue to pop on and off and post when I can, but I really want to focus on my schoolwork so I can finish and get a job. We really need the second income.

Just to let you know, I met Derek last weekend a couple of times and he is still as gorgeous and wonderful and lovely as ever. We had a lovely meal on Saturday Night...I cannot fault the guy; he is such a sweetheart. Oh and there will be a photo shortly *g*

He was quite optimistic about the court case re: Arista but obviously there is a long way to, just for your interest.

I have read Bye Bye Baby, and Shang-A-Lang they were both good. Although Bye Bye Baby, I remember reading that when I was home for 6 months recovering from a bad injury, and parts of that book, I laughed so hard my injury rehurt! Hey, y'all,

I just checked the court, and the Judge issued an order regarding Defendant's (Arista) Motion to Dismiss.

I just briefly looked at it, but the Judge DENIED their Motion to Dismiss. This means that Arista has 30 days from the date of the order (March 5, 2009) to submit an Answer to the Complaint. This should be filed no later than April 6, 2009 (30 days is actually April 4, but that is a Saturday, so it falls to Monday, April 6).

I'll keep you posted!

There will be a dinner, a meet and greet the night before and a full length concert by Les and the Legendary BCR not to mention the raffle, etc. I'm hoping to get to see a lot of old friends there and to finally get to meet some others in person!
