Hello,

I am compelled to Welcome Everyone new and not-so-new to Derek's Board. There for a while I was a little concerned about how the board was coming along (or not coming along) but now the spammers have left us alone (Thank You, Zoe) and we have pictures, video clips and many stories and friendships that are forming. That is what the "Board" is all about! I am looking forward to getting to know you all and being close sister-friends!

I have been to other boards where I introduced myself and not welcomed by any, so I would like to give a huge HELLO AND WELCOME TO DEREK'S BOARD EVERYONE!!! Please if you are just reading the board and would like to say hi to us, don't be shy, we can't wait to meet you! We usually hear from Derek himself at Christmas (only 4 months to go) and around his birthday, March 19th.

Hi! I�m Theresa. I�m originally from Ocala, Fl. I moved to Boston I 1982, and have lived up here off and on since. I�m looking forward to permanently going back to Florida this year. I�m 45, single, and have two pets. My cat and my boyfriend. :) I became a Roller fan at around 16. I saw a concert on TV at a friend�s house, and got hooked. And drove poor ma crazy! Although I didn�t get into wearing the �Roller gear�; I did wear tartan neck ties once in a while.
I guess that�s about all to tell! :)

Ahem, (taps microphone) ok, I'm very nervous about public speaking so I'm picturing you all in your underwear. You, in the back, put some on. I'm Robin. I have been a Derek addict for um, well, lets just say MANY years. Have any of you seen the Youtube "Remember" interviews that the Rollers did back in 1999? (Ok, well, I'm new on the internet.) After I peeled myself off the monitor, I realized that I can only view the first one. Any ideas? Anyway, you all seem so nice and friendly. I hope I can become a part of that!

May, there are directions on how to post pictures to the group below. Basically create yourself a profile under photobucket.com and upload a photo...when its done, there are 4 lines of coding. Ok, I was just on YouTube listening/watching vids. I got to the tribute for Derek, and some loser posted yet another slam against Derek. I have not posted a reply, but ask for your opinions; should I set the record straight again, or leave it? I will defend him as I have been all along. It's just that I keep saying that people should let it go, but they keep coming back with nasty remarks.

I would like to respond to your message below asking for advise to responding to comments made by mean, sad, and most likely very mentally sick people. I have learned over the years that I choose to ignore those people and surround myself with positive, happy, grateful people who love other people. If there are losers out there (and really you can stand on any street corner in the world and swing a stick and hit a group of them) I choose not to even waste my time with people like that. They have more problems than we have time in a year to discuss. So if people are going to say nasty, mean, hurtful, untrue things about other people, personally I feel sorry for those kinds of people.

Something else I have learned from a very wise, wealthy, man who is my mentor: "Never argue with an idiot! They will drag you down and beat you up with their experience!"

Just be grateful that we all are friends, we have wonderful families and we have a beautiful, handsome Derek to look at, and to hear from at least twice a year!

Hello Darlings,
Just wanted to let our fellow Darlings know that there will be several of us that are getting together this Saturday night for dinner in the Seattle area. Why do you tell us this, you might be asking yourself? Well, we will take pictures and then post them on Derek's board so you an see who we are. Sort of introducing ourselves in a "let's all gather around the table and smile" sort of way! Then you can put a face with a name, and then we won't seem like just a name on the board! If anyone else would like to do the same, we would like to see who you are, too! There should be plenty of laughs and fun at dinner, and wish all of you were here with us! Derek, we wish you were here with us, too! You would be the guest of honor, and what a great time we all would have! Until then, cheers! Not sure if there was any Malibu in the drink I had. It was a tropical twister, in a 32 oz glass, several different rums, pineapple juice and other good stuff. My son is home! YIPPEE!! He's in the Navy, and just finished his training as a nuclear technician. He has some time off before heading off to his base and boat, and he came home! I know, I know, I just saw him in July when I went to Charleston ... but I just miss him so much! He stopped by the office to see me before heading home for a much deserved rest.

I count my blessings everyday of how close he and I are. It was that way in high school, so I took it one day at a time, knowing that a teen could turn on a dime and not open up again. Fortunately, that didn't happen, and our relationship has only gotten stronger.

Ok, I'm done babbling now! :)

Hello Everyone,

I wish to take a moment today and reflect on the many lives that were lost due to terrorism 7 years ago today! May the lives lost that day never be forgotten. May the loves ones of those people find God's comfort and peace. You see, those people that perished that day were from 80 different countries, not just Americans!

I know this is a personal day for me, I was in Washington DC that weekend and almost stayed until Tuesday. But I went back to Seattle on Monday Sept 10th. I do remember stopping at the Pentagon on the 10th and seeing many of our military go to work, many lost their lives the very next day. It could have been any one of us on those planes, I just missed it by one day! So today, please thank your Heavely Father for the most precious thing on planet earth... it's called FREEDOM! And thank Him for another day of life, another day to tell someone how much you love them!

May God Bless each and every one of you, and may you always have your Freedom!

Also, as a hockey mom I heard of a hockey scout from North Battleford, SK. being on one of the planes that hit the towers...his seat in our stands at the arena is empty and he is missed. I downloaded it off of Limewire.com but I have no knowledge of it ever being on one of their records. The only place I find it on youtube it is sung by a group called the Rubettes. I'd sure like to know who wrote it. It appears to be on a record The Greatest 70's Album of All Time, Pt.1, released in 2000. Haven't got a clue where I could buy it. Has anyone heard of it?

Some were Rosetta Stone, some were Jefferson Starship, and there is one floating out there called Stars that is listed under Les McKeown and I swear it is him, but he said he never did. I had a manicure today and got rid of the claws, so now that I can type, please expect better typing on my part. Teresa, who thought up the "Darling" thing... well we met each other on this board, and life has never been the same. We had a Roller party over at her place a couple weeks ago, and we had a Blast! Please forgive me, I have been taking my vitamins and my nails are like claws, they look great, but I can't type worth a darn! So Derek's Daring should have been Derek's Darlings. And yes our Derek is a very sweet, kind man, with a huge heart and a soft gentle little soul! I was very sick once and it takes a special person to be a nurse, because I was a cranky sick person! Skimming the cable menu the other day I came accross a show titled "Life With Derek". It caused my heart to skip a beat.....did he have his own show now? No, not to be had. It is a sitcom for the younger crowd. Yes, life with Derek L and his music in our world is certainly a better place to be.

Teresa and I have had a great day working on our Roller stuff and enjoying a lot of laughs! Even little Snickers (the cat) got in on the good times! I have once again removed the spammers and the messages. I also have set the catpchas to hopefully try and stop the spammers from doing what they've been doing.

If it isnt successful, I am seriously going to consider deleting this board. I just really do not have the time that is needed to keep up with it, to be honest.

I sincerely hope I dont have to remove it, though. That will be the very last thing I consider.

I have just recieved news that Nobby's next cd should be released in about two weeks. No title yet, but currently he will be doing a photo shoot this week, so I'll have new pics for the board.
Keep and eye on iTunes as he will be elling tracks indiviually and selling the cd's from his website.
