Jeffrey and Helen Ginman of Yorktown Heights, NY died suddenly in a tragic fire on Monday, April 10th. Jeffrey would have been 75 on April 30th of this year and Helen was 70. They both were longtime residents of Yorktown, having lived for there almost 50 years.

Jeffrey Ginman worked as the National Account Manager for Energizer Batteries, working his way up from salesman. His career spanned almost 45 years. Jeffrey was born in Yonkers in 1942 to Rolf and Marjorie Ginman. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in economics from Columbia University.

Jeffrey served in the Naval Reserve receiving an honorable discharge in 1968. As a young adult he was the lead singer in a rock band called the Esquires, playing with numerous greats like Fats Domino and Chuck Berry and headlining popular places like CBGB and the Cheetah. He also enjoyed rooting for the Mets and Giants. He was a tireless caregiver to his wife and eternally devoted to his family. He was selfless to a fault.

Helen was a homemaker, beloved mother to her children and a devoted wife. She was born in Manhattan in 1947 to Matthew and Helen Campbell. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from Marquette University. Helen enjoyed a number of hobbies in the arts including jewelry making, painting, and sketching. She was an avid animal lover and cared for numerous pets over the years. Such a sweet person you would never know.

They met randomly at a concert where Jeff was playing, the first concert Helen had ever attended. According to Helen when he passed by and said "hi" she thought he was awfully hot and sweaty and wasn't impressed. Nevertheless, she agreed to go on a date, and the two were never to be separated for the next 50 plus years. A true love story.

They are survived by their children Bryan, from Croton-on-Hudson, NY and Craig, from Glastonbury, CT, and his sister Janice who now lives in Sparkill, NY, and Brian and Craig's spouses, and five grandchildren.

There will be a public Mass of Christian Burial at New St. Patrick's Church on Wednesday, April 19th, at 10am in Yorktown Heights followed by a funeral procession leading to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
