(WXYZ) - Legendary songwriter and the first female writer and producer for Motown Records Sylvia Moy has died. She passed away from an illness on Saturday.

She grew up in northeast Detroit and went on to write "My Cherie Amour," "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" and "I Was Made To Love Her," for Stevie Wonder.

Moy helped revive Wonder's young career but also wrote for Marvin Gaye, the Isley Brothers, Mantha and the Vandellas and even Michael Jackson.

She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was the first female to have the title "record producer" at Motown Records, according to her hall of fame biography.

Her biography also says she earned six Grammy nominations, 20 BMI Awards and co-founded the Center for Creative Communications.
