Subject: Welch FUN FACT: The part of the judge was offered to both Spencer Tracy and Burl Ives, but instead went to Welch, who said he took the role because "it looked like that was the only way I'd ever get to be a judge". AND another stipulation was, he insisted his new wife play one of the JURORS!
