The famous musician Hans Vermeulen suddenly died in Thailand on Thursday. That report several friends of the singer on social media. The in Voorburg born musician has become seventy years old.

The singer, composer, producer, guitarist and keyboardist started in 1961 with the band Sandy Coast, with which he scored famous hits like ' I See your face again ' and ' True love that's a wonder '. In The Seventies the band went apart and started the formation Rainbow Train. In that period, Vermeulen was a producer at the cradle of successes, including Margriet Eshuijs and Anita Meyer. In the early 1980s, Sandy Coast made a comeback and scored with the song ' The Eyes of Jenny ' a worldwide hit.

In the 1990s, Hans Vermeulen emigrated to Thailand. He married the Thai singer Jariya Chatsuwan, known as Aom, with whom he lived on the island of Koh Samui. He regularly came to the Netherlands to perform the Rest with the accompaniment band. Vermeulen received a golden Harp and an Edison.
