Mark Morrison, an entertainment and lifestyle journalist and magazine editor, died Saturday at his home in Los Angeles after a brief battle with leukemia, his daughter Monica said. He was 69.Morrison spent 15 years as the West Coast editor of InStyle magazine and helped launch the publication in 1994. He created the "Man of Style" section in addition to booking, writing and editing countless celebrity features.

The New York native was the driving force behind an award-winning THR multimedia package, "Hollywood Legacies," in December 2017. It featured exclusive family photos, videos and interviews with generations of the Hustons, the Poitiers, the Sutherlands, the Kilmers, the Kohans and the Ladds.

Most recently, Morrison worked as the West Coast editor of Men's Journal, booking covers and inside features
Born in Queens, N.Y., on Nov. 29, 1949, Morrison attended Alfred University as an English major. He earned his graduate degree in creative writing from the University of Denver and came to Los Angeles in 1975.

During his 40-year career, Morrison also contributed to Rolling Stone, Los Angeles magazine, Travel & Leisure, Harper’s Bazaar, Bon Appetit, Wine Spectator, Sunset, People, Redbook, Emmy, USA Weekend and More magazine.

"His passion for his work and the entertainment industry was infectious," his family noted. "He had a love and depth of knowledge of wine, architecture, restaurants and travel, but his true dedication was to his family and friends."
